Wanted Camden Man Arrested On Weapons and Drug Charges

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Ryan Cox, 26, of Camden, who was wanted by the Delaware Gaming Enforcement, on weapons and drug charges Monday morning. The investigation began when Street Crimes Officers observed Cox in the area of the Dover Inn at approximately 11:51 a.m. The officers knew Cox to have an active warrant so they made contact with him. Cox was taken into custody without incident and found in possession of a loaded Glock 19 9mm handgun and 0.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine. 

Cox was transported to Dover Police where he was processed and arraigned.

Cox was committed to SCI on $30,200 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited(2x)
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of a Controlled Substance

Dover Police to Host “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” Seminar

The Dover Police Department will be hosting a “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” seminar on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. The seminar is open to anyone interested in a career with the Dover Police Department as a police officer and will include information about the hiring process, application assistance, specialized units of the agency, and a tour of the police department.  You do not have to submit an application prior to attending and there is no need to register for the event.  Doors will open at 8:45AM and close promptly at 9:00 a.m. with no late admittance permitted.  The seminars typically end by 11:00 a.m.

UPDATE (Subject Located) Gold Alert Issued for Missing Dover Woman

**UPDATE 2/28/2023** The Dover Police Department is cancelling the Gold Alert for Joyce Kershaw. Kershaw has been located and is safe.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Joyce Kershaw, an 88-year-old Dover woman. Kershaw suffers from a condition that may pose a risk to her health and safety if not properly monitored and treated. Kershaw is described as a white female, approximately 5’1″ and approximately 107 pounds, brown hair, blue eyes. Kershaw left her residence in the 600 block of North Bradford Street at approximately 4:55 p.m. operating a maroon 2012 Mazda 5, with a Delaware Registration 38400, headed toward North Little Creek Road in Dover however she has not been seen or heard from since.
