Cheswold Man Arrested For DUI and Weapons Charges

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Isiah Dunbar, 34, of Cheswold, for DUI and weapons charges, following a traffic stop early Sunday morning. The investigation began at 2:20 a.m., when Officers were in the area of South Bradford Street investigating a shooting and they observed a car exited a private parking lot into the roadway and strike a legally parked car. Officers contacted the driver, Dunbar, and noticed that he showed several signs of being impaired by alcohol. Dunbar was arrested for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and officers located a 9mm handgun concealed on his person following a search. Dunbar was transported to Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned.

Dunbar was released on $4,500 unsecured bail on the following charges:
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of a Firearm While Under the Influence
-DUI
-Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession

Vehicle Damaged Following Shooting On South Bradford Street

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on South Bradford Street early Sunday morning resulting in a vehicle being damaged. The investigation began at 1:27 a.m., when Officers were called to the area for shots fired. Officers responded to the scene and located a large crowd. Officers also located a vehicle that had damage consistent with being shot. No witnesses came forward during this investigation and no injuries were reported.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302) 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. 13-year-old Arrested On Weapon and Drug Charges

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested a 13-year-old black male of Dover on weapon and drug charges following a firearm investigation Wednesday afternoon. The Drugs, Vice and Organized Crime Unit, in collaboration with the Street Crimes Unit, was conducting a firearm investigation involving the 13-year-old. Officers attempted to contact the 13-year-old at 1:41 p.m. in the unit block of South New Street at which time he ran away from Officers. Officers were able to take him into custody after the foot pursuit and located a 9mm handgun, along with clothing items belonging to him, in the path he ran from Officers. He was also in possession of 1.2 grams of crack cocaine.

The 13-year-old was committed to Stevenson House on $26,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
-Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
-Illegal Gang Participation
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession of Crack Cocaine

Juvenile Arrested For Rockford Crossing Shooting

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old black male of Dover following a shooting investigation that began early Saturday morning. The investigation began at 2:38 a.m. Saturday when a patrol officer stopped a stolen Kia Forte in Capital Green. Upon stopping the vehicle, one of the occupants ran, however the driver, the 16-year-old, was taken into custody without incident. Officers located shell casings inside of the vehicle at this time and they were collected as evidence.

At 2:43 a.m., the Dover Police Department received a call for shots fired in the unit block of Rockford Crossing. Officers responded and located a residence that was occupied by 5 individuals that had been struck by gunfire and was damaged. No injuries were reported as a result of this shooting. Detectives responded and began their investigation into this incident.

The 16-year-old was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,500, two traffic charges, and was released on Saturday.

Detectives continued their investigation into the shooting and determined that there was a delay in the 911 call for the shots fired and the shooting happened prior to the 16-year-old being stopped in the stolen Kia. Further investigation lead detectives to find that the 16-year-old was involved in the shooting and they obtained warrants for his arrest.

On July 24, 2023 the 16-year-old turned himself in to Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned.

The 16-year-old was committed to Stevenson House on $29,000 secured bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
-Reckless Endangering First Degree (5x)
-Criminal Mischief Over $1,000 but Less than $5,000
-Hindering Prosecution

Magnolia Man Arrested on Weapon and Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Jordan Patrick, 29, of Magnolia, on weapon and gun charges following a traffic stop early Wednesday morning. The investigation began when Officers on patrol observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light at the intersection of College Road and Saulsbury Road and proceed eastbound on College Road at a high rate of speed. Officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Patrick. A records check revealed Patrick had a capias for his arrest. Patrick was taken into custody without incident and Officers located a 9mm handgun, 72 grams of marijuana and 14 grams of mushrooms, which tested positive for methamphetamines’, following a search of Patrick and his vehicle. Patrick was transported to Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned.

Patrick was released on $23,603 unsecured bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession of Methamphetamine in a Tier 2 Quantity
-Possession of Marijuana Other Than Personal Use
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Failure to Stop at a Red Light
-Driving at an Unreasonable Speed

Two Arrested Following Drug Investigation

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Rachel Casas, 29, and Daniel Walmer, 26, both of Dover, on weapon and drug charges following a drug investigation Tuesday evening. At 5:29 p.m. Tuesday evening, members of the Street Crimes Unit assisted Delaware Probation and Parole, who had been conducting a drug/firearm investigation involving Casas and Walmer, with an administrative search of a hotel room at the Days Inn associated with the pair. Casas and Walmer were taken into custody without incident and a search of the room revealed 126 bags of heroin, $1,150, 56 doses of amphetamine pills, 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine, and a 9mm handgun. Casas and Walmer were transported to Dover Police where they were processed and arraigned.

Casas was released on $28,500 unsecured bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
-Possession of Amphetamines in a Tier 1 Quantity
-Conspiracy Second Degree
-Possession of a Controlled Substance (2x)

Walmer was released on $2,300 unsecured bail on the following charges:
-Possession of Amphetamines in a Tier 1 Quantity
-Conspiracy Second Degree
-Possession of a Controlled Substance (2x)
