The Dover Police Department has arrested David Robinson, 46, of Dover, following a shooting incident that occurred late Sunday. The investigation began at 11:40 p.m., when Dover Police responded to the unit block of Stevenson Drive for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers found evidence that a shooting had occurred; however, no suspects or victims could be located at this time. The victim, a 39-year-old male of Dover, arrived at Bayhealth Kent Campus later with a gunshot wound to his lower body as a result of this incident. He refused to provide a statement to Police. A vehicle was also struck by gunfire and damaged during this incident.
The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim had just exited when he was shot by an unknown suspect. It was determined that Robinson exited the vehicle that the victim had been in and also fired a handgun during this incident. Robinson was taken into custody in the 900 block of Carvel Drive and taken into custody without incident. Officers also recovered an RG14 .22 Caliber revolver in the 100 Block of Willis Road that is believed to be connected with this incident.
Robinson was committed to SCI on $45,100 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm By a Person Prohibited
-Reckless Endangering (2x)
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Criminal Mischief
Robinson is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
