Narrative: The Dover Police Department Patrol Division arrested a suspect following a burglary at The Little Grocer on Saturday morning. Officers responded to the business and discovered that the front door to the business was damaged as the result of forced entry. Surveillance footage showed the suspect enter the business and check the counter and cash register, but did not locate any valuables. The suspect then exited the business and fled in a silver Nissan Altima. Officers reviewing the surveillance footage were able to identify the suspect as Lamar Trower (41, Dover). A warrant was obtained for his arrest and he was arrested on Saturday afternoon by patrol officers without incident.
Trower was released on a $3,750 unsecured bond on the following offenses:
-Burglary 3rd Degree
-Attempted Theft
-Criminal Mischief
Trower was arrested on March 23rd, 2026 and charged in connection to four additional burglaries and was also released on an unsecured bond for those offenses.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday, March 26th, 2026. Officers responded to the 100 Block of Thames Drive in The Village of Westover for several reports of shots being fired. As officers arrived they were notified that an 18-year-old male had been struck in the leg on Thames Drive. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.
Officers continued to search the area and located several shell casings behind one residence and two other homes with damage from the gun fire. Both homes were occupied when they were struck. Witnesses on scene aided officers by providing descriptions of the suspects and a direction of travel, advising that they ran eastbound through a wooded path towards Mifflin Road.
Responding officers established a perimeter and requested assistance from the Delaware State Police K9 Unit in tracking the suspects. The Delaware State Police K9 tracked towards the rear of a residence in the 100 Block of Mifflin Road, leading officers to a trash can where two 9mm handguns were located. The K9 continued to track to the rear of that residence and officers contacted the resident who consented to checking the property for the suspects. Officers checking the property located the two male suspects, matching witness descriptions, in a detached shed in the yard. Both were taken into custody without incident.
The suspects were identified as Nasir Gibson (18, Wilmington) and Dimitri Marcelin (18, Dover).
Both suspects were charged with the following offenses:
-Assault 1st Degree
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony (2x)
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (2x)
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Wearing a Disguise During Commission of Felony
-Criminal Mischief Under $1000 (2x)
-Trespass 2nd Degree
Both Gibson and Marcelin were committed to SCI on $63,800 cash bonds on these offenses.

Update: The Gold Alert for Taliyah Crain has been cancelled after she was safely located on March 26th, 2026.
Narrative: The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Taliyah Crain(14), of Dover. Crain was last seen at approximately 7:50 a.m. in the 100 Block of Lakeview Drive in Dover, DE when she departed for school on Wednesday, March 25th. She has not returned since. Attempts to contact or locate her have been unsuccessful, and there is a concern for her safety and well-being. Crain is described as a black female, 5″3″, 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, a brown shirt, and brown pants. Crain resides in the Dover, DE area. Narrative: The Dover Police Department Patrol Division arrested a suspect wanted in relation to four commercial burglaries within a two day period. Between March 21st and 22nd, 2026, the Dover Police Department responded to burglaries at the following locations:
Pizza Time (1255 S. State Street), March 21st, 2026 at 4:15 a.m.
Lana Nails (155 N. DuPont Highway), March 22nd, 2026 at 1:22 a.m.
Restaurante El Gallito (1030 S. Little Creek Road), March 22nd, 2026 at 1:45 a.m.
Off The Top Barber (1032 S. Little Creek Road), March 22nd, 2026 at 1:45 a.m.
During the investigation into these incidents, a silver Nissan Altima with Delaware temporary tags was identified as a suspect vehicle. Patrol officers located the suspect vehicle on March 23rd, 2026 at 3:32 p.m.in the area of Walker Road and North State Street and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, Lamar Trower (41, Dover) was taken into custody without incident. Trower was released on a $3,000 unsecured bond on the following offenses:
-Burglary 3rd Degree (3x)
-Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree
-Theft Over $1,500 (2x)
-Attempted Theft
-Criminal Mischief (2x)

Narrative: The Dover Police Department arrested Ahmeer Ledbetter (19), of Wilmington, on drug and weapons offenses on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at approximately 4:33 p.m. Officers from the Patrol Division were responding to a report of a subject armed with a gun in the 100 Block of South New Street and attempted to contact Ledbetter. Ledbetter fled on foot but was quickly apprehended by pursuing officers. Officers located a loaded .40 caliber handgun and 7.17 grams of heroin that Ledbetter discarded during the foot chase.

Ledbetter was committed to SCI on $183,000 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (Drugs)
-Resisting Arrest
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Tampering with Physical Evidence

Narrative: On March 19, 2026, at approximately 5:31 p.m., officers from the Dover Police Department were dispatched to the area of South New Street in reference to a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers began an investigation which revealed that two unknown black male suspects approached the area by walking eastbound through residential yards, crossing Queen Street, and entering a yard in the Unit Block of South New Street. At that time, a group of individuals was gathered in the area.
One of the suspects discharged a firearm, firing at least three rounds in the direction of the group. As a result, one male victim (32) sustained two gunshot wounds to the right thigh. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Hospital by a private citizen for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.
During the incident, a second victim was seated in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle across the street when a projectile struck the driver’s side rear window, causing damage. A third victim’s unoccupied vehicle, which was parked in a driveway in the Unit Block of South New Street, was also struck by gunfire, resulting in damage to the hood and grille of the vehicle.
Officers recovered multiple shell casings from the backyard of a residence in the Unit Block of South New Street.
Following the shooting, the suspects fled westbound on foot through residential yards, crossing back over Queen Street.
