Update: Images from PNC Bank Robbery Released 7-10-24

Update:  The Dover Police Department is releasing the following images obtained from PNC Bank surveillance video from the July 9th PNC Bank robbery.  The images show the suspect and an enhanced view of a hand tattoo that may aid in identification. If you have any information that can help identify this suspect, please contact the Dover Police Department at (302) 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com ; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday, July 9th at approximately 11:14 a.m.  The incident occurred when a suspect entered the bank and wrote a message on a deposit slip demanding money from the teller.  The suspect handed the message to the teller and the teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then fled in a westbound direction on foot, taking the note with him.  

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male, approximately 5’10”, wearing a white shirt, dark shorts, dark hat, and a cloth surgical mask. Surveillance footage was not available to provide at the time of this release.                          

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302) 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Dover Police Investigating Serious Crash at North DuPont Highway and Lepore Drive 7-10-2024

Location: North DuPont Highway and Lepore Drive, Dover, DE

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a serious motor vehicle crash that left two boys (15 and 14 years old) with serious injuries.  The 15-year-old male was operating a stolen motorcycle (Honda Grom) with the 14-year-old as a passenger.  The 15-year-old operator rode recklessly, running several red lights, and disobeying multiple traffic laws prior to the collision. The motorcycle was later determined to be stolen out of Philadelphia.  

While traveling south on North DuPont Highway, approaching Lepore Drive, the 15-year-old operator of the stolen motorcycle ran a red light at a high rate of speed and collided with the side of a Honda CRV that was legally making a U-turn.  Both the operator and passenger of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and were transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment.  Further investigation revealed that the 15-year-old operator was under the influence of alcohol as well. Both teens remain hospitalized in stable condition. Once released from medical care, the 15-year-old operator will be charged with the following offenses: -DUI -Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree (x2) -Receiving Stolen Property -Multiple Traffic Offenses

Gold Alert Issued For Missing Dover Man

Dover Man Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Agmere Matthews, 32, of Dover, on drug and firearm charges following a shots fired complaint early Wednesday morning. The investigation began at 4:04 a.m., when Dover Police was called to the unit block of South New Street for the report of shots fired. Officers were able to review downtown surveillance and observe a suspect in the area holding a firearm. Officers responded to the area and took the suspect, identified as Matthews, into custody without incident. Officers located 23 grams of crack cocaine, and an undisclosed amount of money on Matthews when he was taken into custody. Officers also located a Walther .38 caliber firearm after canvassing the area that Matthews had come from prior to being taken into custody.

Matthews was transported to Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned.

Matthews was committed to SCI on $55,000 secured bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited

Matthews is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Dover Man Arrested For Burglary

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Tyler Keenan, 32, of Dover, on burglary charges following an incident Monday morning. The investigation began at 9:34 a.m., when Dover Police received a call for a burglary that had occurred at Laundry Lagoon. Officers responded and the ensuing investigation revealed that at approximately 1:00 a.m., a suspect entered an unsecured door at the business and, once inside, damaged a vending machine and stole merchandise before leaving. Keenan was identified as the suspect in this incident and he was taken into custody without incident at a nearby business. 

Keenan was transported to Dover Police Department to be processed and arraigned.

He was released on OR bond on the following charges:
-Burglary Third Degree
-Theft Under $1,500
-Criminal Mischief $1,000 – $5,000

Keenan is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
