Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges for Dover Woman 7-9-18

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested 39-year-old Antionette Hale on drug charges following a traffic stop on Saturday morning.  At approximately 8:41AM on Saturday, July 7th, a Dover police officer observed Hale stopped in the middle of Fulton Street in a black Toyota SUV.  The vehicle was interfering with traffic since it was stopped in the middle of the road.  A computer check revealed that Hale had a revoked license and should not have been operating the vehicle.  Officers later discovered 104 bags of heroin inside the vehicle, .9 grams of marijuana, and three types of prescription medications.  

Hale was released after posting $6,500 secured bond on the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

D&D Liquors Robbery 7-7-2018

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on Friday night.  At approximately 11:45PM, an unknown male suspect entered D&D Liquors at 1107 S. DuPont Highway, dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white gloves.  Once inside, the suspect broke several displays in the business, removed the cash register and fled with the register and its contents.

Shooting on S. Governors Avenue 7-5-2018

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 22-year-old man injured on Thursday morning.  At approximately 2:02AM, officers responded to the area of South Governors Avenue and Reed Street for a shots fired report.  Upon arrival, officers also learned a victim had been transported by private vehicle to Kent General Hospital.  The 22-year-old male suffered a single gunshot wound to the right arm as a result of the incident.  The injury is not life threatening.

Fatal Accident in Rear Alley of New Castle Avenue 7-5-18

Narrative: 

A 36-year-old Smyrna man was charged with Vehicular Homicide 2nd Degree following an incident on Wednesday morning.  At approximately 2:22AM, Gerald Medkeff was operating a Mazda 3 sedan in the rear alley of New Castle Avenue.  Medkeff was in the area to purchase drugs.  While in the alley, Medkeff was approached by several people in the area who became disorderly with Medkeff.  Medkeff attempted to leave the area by placing his vehicle in reverse, striking 40-year-old Moneca Saunders.  After striking Saunders, she became stuck under Medkeff’s vehicle.  Medkeff shifted from reverse to forward at least twice more in an effort to leave but was unsuccessful.  Assistance from the Dover Fire Department was needed to free Saunders from under the vehicle.  She was later pronounced dead at Kent General Hospital.  Medkeff was charged with a single count of 2nd Degree Vehicular Homicide.  Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.

Medkeff was committed to JTVCC in default of $10,000 cash bond.

Suspect Wanted in Liberty Court Homicide 6-29-2018

UPDATE:

The Dover Police Department has identified Timothy Safford (42) as the suspect in the shooting death of Sylvester Lee at Liberty Court Apartments on Friday, June 22nd.  During the investigation, detectives learned that Safford and Lee were involved in a verbal argument prior to the shooting.  While both men walked towards the victim’s vehicle, Safford shot Lee, ultimately causing his death. 

Safford is wanted for 1st Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm During Commission of Felony,  Possession of Firearm/Ammunition by Person Prohibited (2x).  

Safford should be considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with knowledge of Safford’s whereabouts should call 911 or their local police department immediately.  Safford’s last known address is in Dover, DE but is no longer accurate.

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 41-year-old man that occurred on Friday night.  At approximately 9:41PM, officers from the Dover Police Department responded to Liberty Court Apartments for reports of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located Sylvester Lee (Clayton, DE), lying on the ground after being struck multiple times by gunfire in the torso.  Lee was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 10:15PM.

Dover Police Make Arrest in Three Walgreen’s Robberies 6-28-2018

 

The Dover Police Department is announcing the arrest of Nathaniel Carr (22), of Washington, D.C., in three robberies of Dover Walgreen’s stores.  Following the March 29th robbery where Carr and another suspect jumped the pharmacy counter and took prescription medication, detectives were able to obtain fingerprints from the crime scene.  Those fingerprints led to the identification of Carr as a suspect.  Detectives were then able to link Carr to two additional Walgreen’s robberies that took place on February 27th, 2018 and December 24th, 2017.  Carr was arrested in Washington D.C. on June 22nd, 2018 and extradited to Delaware on June 27th.  Carr was committed to JTVCC in default of $18,600 cash bond on the following charges:
-Robbery 2nd Degree (3x)
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Wearing a Disguise During Commission of Felony
-Offensive Touching
