Four Arrested in Meth Lab Bust 12-12-16

Narrative:

Four people were arrested following a drug investigation that led to a search warrant being executed at a residence in the 2000 Block of White Oak Road on Friday morning for the operation of a Clandestine Laboratory.  Dover officers working with DEA (Dover), DNREC Emergency Response Unit, and the Little Creek Fire Company executed the search warrant shortly after 6AM on Friday morning which ended in the arrests of four suspects and the discovery of a clandestine laboratory and components to manufacturer methamphetamine.  As a result of the incident, the following suspects were charged with the following offenses:

Two Men Shot on S. New Street 12-10-16

Location: Reported to have occurred in Unit Block of S. New Street, Dover, DE

Narrative:

A 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old man are being treated for gunshot wounds following a shooting that reportedly occurred in the first block of S. New Street in Dover on Friday morning.  At approximately 1:49AM, the two men were dropped off at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in two separate vehicles with one suffering a gunshot to the abdomen and the other being struck twice times in his lower extremities and once in the forearm.  Neither of the mens injuries are life-threatening, according to medical officials.  During a preliminary investigation, the men advised officers that the incident occurred in the first block of S. New Street, but did not provide further details.

We will be in a Code Purple Alert in Kent County during the nights of December 8- December 10th.  We will close at 7am on the morning of December 11th.

The following sanctuaries will be open for MEN:

At this time we do not have a shelter available for women and children in the City of Dover for Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday nights.

Investigation Leads to Drug and Gun Charges for Dover Man 12-6-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department ended a drug investigation at the Super Lodge, located at 246 N. DuPont Highway, with an arrest on Monday afternoon.  20-year-old DeJon Henderson was being investigated, when he left the hotel room at the Super Lodge and was stopped by investigating officers.  Henderson was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested without incident.  Following a search warrant of the hotel room, officers located additional marijuana, packaging material, and a .40 caliber handgun.  Henderson was released on $50,000 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Shots Fired, House and Car Struck on Ann Avenue 12-5-2016

Location:   100 Block of Ann Avenue, Dover, DE

Narrative:

A home and vehicle were struck when multiple shots were fired in the 100 Block of Ann Avenue early Monday morning.  At approximately 12:10AM, several shots were fired and struck a home at least eight times and a vehicle twice.  The home was occupied by an adult male and his son at the time.  Neither party was injured as a result of the gunfire.

Dover Man Charged with Attempted Child Rape 11-30-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit arrested Donald Redd (36-year-old) after discovering he attempted to rape an 8-year-old child.  Redd was committed to JTVCC on $40,000 cash bond for Attempted rape 1st degree and Attempted sexual abuse by a person of trust 1st degree.  The child victim is not Redd’s child, but the child of an acquaintance of Redd’s and is in the care of the parent.  A mug shot was not available at the time of release.
