Arrest Made in Citizens Bank Robbery 4-7-2014
Incident #: 50-14-8046 Date/Time: Friday, April 4th at 3:35PM
Location: 8 West Loockerman Street (Citizens Bank), Dover, DE
Original Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating an armed bank robbery of the Citizens Bank branch located at 8 West Loockerman Street. The robbery occurred at approximately 3:35PM. The suspect fled northbound on foot in the State Street Alley and is believed to have proceeded westbound towards the downtown area. The suspect did display a handgun at the time of the robbery and fled with an undisclosed amount of currency. An image of the suspect is below.
Update 1: Further investigation by the Dover Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit has led to the bank robbery suspect being identified as Mark T. Jones. Jones currently has a warrant on file for Robbery 1st Degree and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony. Jones should be considered armed and dangerous. Mark Jones is a 35 year old black male, who’s last know address is 46 South Queen Street, Dover, DE.
Update 2: The Dover Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit successfully apprehended Mark T. Jones just after 10:00AM on Tuesday, April 8th. Jones was located at the Economy Inn, near Garrison’s Lake, in Smyrna after police received an anonymous tip that he may be staying in a room at that location. Jones was arrested without incident and transported back to the Dover Police Department for questioning and arraignment. Bond was set at $100,000 cash. Jones was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of the cash bond.

Additional Arrest Made in Spruance Road Fight/Shooting Incident 4-7-2014
Incident #: 50-14-7879 Date/Time: Thursday, April 3rd at 1:14am
Location: 100 Block of Spruance Road, Dover, DE
Original Narrative: The Dover Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating an early morning shooting that left one man in critical condition and a home riddled with bullets. At approximately 1:14 am the Dover Police Department received several 9-1-1 calls for shots fired in the 100 block of Spruance Road (See Map Below). Officers arriving on scene found an 18 year old male victim who had been shot in the torso. The victim was rushed to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries and is now listed in critical, but stable condition. At this point in the investigation, Dover Police Detectives have learned that a fight occurred between numerous subjects on Spruance Road and an unknown suspect fired 12 or more shots towards a residence. Several rounds hit the home and nearly hit other persons in and around the residence as they fled for safety.
Update 1: Khiheim Hanzer (18) of Dover turned himself in to the Dover Police Department after midnight on Saturday, April 5th in reference to the shooting on Spruance Road that occurred on April 3rd. Detectives from the Dover Police Criminal Investigations Unit developed Hanzer as a suspect after pursuing investigative leads in the case. While the arrest of the shooter was of utmost importance, the incident is still under investigation as detectives are now working to identify the other suspects involved in the altercation that led to the shooting.
Update 2: Robert Knox (18) of Dover turned himself in to the Dover Police Department on April 7, 2014 in the afternoon, in reference to his connection with the fight/shooting on Spruance Road. Knox was developed as a suspect early on in the investigation and was charged with Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Riot-Use Plan to use a Deadly Weapon. Knox was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $5,000 cash bond. The Dover Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit is still seeking other the other suspects involved in the incident.

Dover Police Arrest Man for Assaulting 1-Year-Old Child 4-7-2014
Incident #: 50-14-8156 Date/Time: Saturday, April 5th, at 1:16PM
Location: 100 Block Lakeview Drive, Dover, DE
Narrative:
On Saturday, April 5th at approximately 1:16PM, officers from the Dover Police Department responded to an apartment in the 100 block of Lakeview Drive in reference to a report of child abuse. Detectives from the Dover Police Department conducted an investigation and discovered that Marcus Miller (22) used a belt to strike his 1-year old son numerous times, causing substantial pain, bruising, and swelling on the child’s back. Miller was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Child Abuse 2nd Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (4 counts). Miller was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $11,000 bond. The child is in custody of other family members at this time.
