Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for James Nevin Jr., 21, of Dover, DE. Nevin was last seen leaving a Home Depot store, where he is employed, at approximately 1600 hours on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024. Attempts to contact or locate him have been unsuccessful, and there is a concern for his safety and well-being. Nevin is described as a white male, 6’0″, 320 pounds, brown hair, facial hair, and wears black framed prescription eyeglasses. At the time he was last seen, Nevin was wearing a navy colored polo shirt, blue jeans, and black/grey sneakers.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday, July 9th at approximately 11:14 a.m.  The incident occurred when a suspect entered the bank and wrote a message on a deposit slip demanding money from the teller.  The suspect handed the message to the teller and the teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then fled in a westbound direction on foot, taking the note with him.  

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male, approximately 5’10”, wearing a white shirt, dark shorts, dark hat, and a cloth surgical mask. Surveillance footage was not available to provide at the time of this release.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Manuel Martinez, 41, of Dover, DE. Martinez was last seen in the unit block of Willis Road on Thursday, July 4th, at 2:30 a.m.. Attempts to contact or locate him have been unsuccessful, and there is a concern for his safety and well-being. Martinez is described as a black male, 5’11”, 225 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time, he was wearing a red shirt and jean shorts. He may be operating an older model Jeep bearing Delaware registration PC233956.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Agmere Matthews, 32, of Dover, on drug and firearm charges following a shots fired complaint early Wednesday morning. The investigation began at 4:04 a.m., when Dover Police was called to the unit block of South New Street for the report of shots fired. Officers were able to review downtown surveillance and observe a suspect in the area holding a firearm. Officers responded to the area and took the suspect, identified as Matthews, into custody without incident. Officers located 23 grams of crack cocaine, and an undisclosed amount of money on Matthews when he was taken into custody. Officers also located a Walther .38 caliber firearm after canvassing the area that Matthews had come from prior to being taken into custody.

Matthews was transported to Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned.

Matthews was committed to SCI on $55,000 secured bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited

Matthews is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Tyler Keenan, 32, of Dover, on burglary charges following an incident Monday morning. The investigation began at 9:34 a.m., when Dover Police received a call for a burglary that had occurred at Laundry Lagoon. Officers responded and the ensuing investigation revealed that at approximately 1:00 a.m., a suspect entered an unsecured door at the business and, once inside, damaged a vending machine and stole merchandise before leaving. Keenan was identified as the suspect in this incident and he was taken into custody without incident at a nearby business. 

Keenan was transported to Dover Police Department to be processed and arraigned.

He was released on OR bond on the following charges:
-Burglary Third Degree
-Theft Under $1,500
-Criminal Mischief $1,000 – $5,000

Keenan is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at Sky Vape Smoke Shop, early Sunday morning. The investigation began at 3:51 a.m., when Dover Police were called to the store for the report of a burglary. Officers responded and noticed the front glass window and front door had been shattered. The ensuing investigation revealed that at approximately 3:50 a.m., several suspects broke the front glass to the business and entered. Once inside, the suspects removed an undisclosed amount of merchandise from the store and ran away on foot.

The Dover Police Department is working to identify the number and description of the suspects.

There are no leads at this time.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in four homes and two vehicles being damaged Friday night. The investigation began at 10:53 p.m., when Dover Police received a call for shots fired in the Manchester Square neighborhood. Officers responded and located four homes and two vehicles that had been damaged by gunfire. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. 

There are currently no leads at this time.

The Dover Police Department will once again bring the National Night Out to the Dover community on Tuesday, August 6th from 6-8pm.  The event brings the Dover Police Department, along with several emergency agencies and military personnel to one place where the public can bring their families to meet and greet local heroes and see the equipment used in their jobs while forming a positive relationship with the community.  In addition to appearances and demonstrations by these agencies, Night Out will feature fun activities for all ages along with food and beverages for all while supplies last.  The venue for the event will be Dover High School at 1 Dover High Drive, Dover, DE. 

The National Night Out  provides a variety of agencies with an opportunity to show our citizens what services they provide, the vehicles and equipment they use, and a chance to interact with personnel in a relaxed atmosphere.  

The Dover Police Department requests that political candidates/officials do NOT campaign, distribute handbills, or other materials at this event.
