HOW TO SUCCEED IN THE HIRING PROCESS

The Dover Police Department invites anyone interested in a career in law enforcement to attend our How to Succeed in the Hiring Process Seminar on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in the Public Assembly Room at the Dover Police Department. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m., and the seminar will run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This free informational seminar is designed to help prospective applicants better understand every step of the Dover Police Department hiring process. Topics will include the online application, physical fitness assessment, written examination, oral board interview, background investigation, Chief’s interview, police academy expectations, and tips on how to prepare for each phase. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insight from department personnel.

No application or RSVP is required—simply arrive before the seminar begins and take the first step toward a rewarding career with the Dover Police Department.
