On Wednesday, February 5th at 9:24AM the Dover Police Department received a call for an armed robbery that occurred.  The suspect, Ronald Rogers (DOB: 2-22-1954), entered the bank and threatened the teller with a handgun, demanding that she place money in a bag.  Rogers was wearing dark overalls, a white cover on his face, a dark colored hat, and fled in a dark green Cadillac Seville with a handicap plate (HP).  The Dover Police Department quickly obtained a surveillance photo of the vehicle from the bank’s surveillance system and distributed it through the Dover Police Department website and social media platforms.  At approximately 12:50PM, a tip was called in to 9-1-1 stating they saw a car matching the description distributed by the Dover Police Department in the Harrington area on Carpenter Bridge Road.  While the tip was coming in, officers from the Harrington Police Department quickly responded to the area and observed the vehicle turn northbound onto US RT 13.  The Harrington Police Department stopped the suspect vehicle and took Rogers into custody without further incident and immediately notified the Dover Police Department.  Police recovered evidence from the bank robbery within the vehicle as well.  Bond information was not available at the time of this release.

Dover Police Investigating Possible Residential Burglary 2-4-2014

DPD Sex Offender Unit Seeks Subject for Failure To Re-Register

Narrative:

Arrest Made in Woodcrest Home Invasion 2-4-2014

Location:  800 Block Woodcrest Drive, Dover, DE

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department responded to a Home Invasion at 2:30PM on Sunday, February 2nd.  The incident occurred int he 800 block of Woodcrest Drive when an unknown black male suspect approached an 83-year-old female victim while she was in her garage.  The suspect confronted the woman with a small black handgun and forced her into the residence, where a brief struggle ensued.  The suspect demanded the keys to the victims vehicle, however the victim did not provide the keys to him. The suspect then forced the victim into her basement while he looked through her personal belongings.

It was earlier reported that the suspect fled a short time later without any of the victims property.  However, it was later discovered that the suspect stole the victims credit card and used it at a CVS store located at the corner of Route 8 and Saulsbury Road in Dover. The victim sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover.

UPDATE: On Tuesday, February 4th at 3:50PM officers from the Dover Police Department identified and located Jameson Hoxter (DOB: 12-5-89) as the suspect in the Woodcrest Community Home Invasion where the victim was an 83-year-old woman.  Hoxter was taken into custody without incident and was later arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7.  Hoxter is being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $47,500 cash bond.
