Narrative:

On February 26, 2015 at 6:17 pm Officers from the City of Dover TAC/ Operation Safe Streets Unit conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of River Road and E. Water Street in Capital Green development in Dover, DE. Upon contact with the operator he could not produce any identification and an odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Officers had both the operator and the passenger exit the vehicle. After further investigation officers located a 9mm handgun and 18.7 grams of marijuana in the  possession of the operator/ defendant Wayne Kersey 2nd (23) of Dover. Defendant Kersey was processed and then arraigned at JP#7 on numerous criminal charges. Defendant Kersey was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, DE in default of $31,250.00 secured bond.

Two Wanted for Residential Burglary 2-25-15

Location:  Unit Block of River Chase Drive, Dover, DE

Narrative:

A man and woman are wanted in connection with a residential burglary that occurred between 9:00Am and 9:00PM on February 19th.  Detectives were notified of the incident after the victim returned from a hospital visit and noticed a laptop computer and 60″ television were stolen.  The suspects made entry through a bedroom window.  Amanda Delgado, had stayed with the victim the night prior, as she is a member of the victims extended family.  The next day, when the victim left the residence for a hospital appointment, he made Amanda Delgado leave the residence as well.  Upon his return, the items were missing, and footprints in the snow were visible leading to/from the bedroom window where entry into the home was made.  A witness observed both Amanda and Obed Delgado inside the residence while the victim was away.  Both suspects are currently wanted on the following charges:

  • Burglary 2nd Degree
  • Theft Under $1,500.00 (Victim over 62-Felony)
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree

Two Arrested During Drug Investigation 2-25-14

Incident #: 50-15-4738  Date/Time: February 24, 2015 at approximately 3:58PM

Location:  Dover Downs Casino Parking Lot (1131 North DuPont Highway)

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department Drug Unit and Safe Streets Unit, along with the Delaware State Police Drug Unit arrested two people in connection with an ongoing drug investigation.  Officers stopped Miranda Hart (27) in a red mini-van and detected a strong odor of marijuana coming form the vehicle.  Hart admitted to having marijuana in her possession and 6.3 grams of marijuana was found inside her waist.  A further search led to the discovery of 13 bags (.195 grams) of heroin being found in her possession as well.  While officers conducted an interview with Hart, she admitted that she was going to meet Jessie Mahoney to conduct a drug transaction.  During the stop, Mahoney approached and fled from officers on foot.  During the foot pursuit, one officer was kicked in the face by Mahoney while attempting to take Mahoney into custody.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Released $2,200 unsecured bond

Dover Woman Arrested with 50 Bags of Heroin 2-25-15

Location:  Home Depot Parking Lot (801 North DuPont Highway)

Narrative:
At approximately 4:00PM, on Tuesday, February 24th, the Dover Police Department Safe Streets Unit and Drug Unit, along with the Delaware State Police Drug Unit contacted Cassie Lynch (30) during an active drug investigation.  After conducting a search of Lynch, it was discovered that she had 50 bags (.75 grams) of heroin in her possession.  Lynch was taken into custody without incident and was released on $10,200 unsecured bond after being charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession with intent to deliver heroin
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Man Arrested With Loaded Handgun During Traffic Stop 2-25-15

Location:  Royal Farms Parking Lot (295 South DuPont Highway)

Narrative:
The Dover Police Safe Streets Unit arrested a 20-year-old Dover man in possession of a loaded firearm and marijuana after fleeing during a traffic stop on Tuesday morning.  At approximately 10:52A, officers stopped Ezri Turner for a traffic violation in the parking lot of the Royal Farms located at 295 South DuPont Highway.  Turner attempted to flee on foot and struggled with officers as they attempted to take him into custody, causing one officer to be injured in the process (laceration to leg).  Officers were able to take Turner into custody during the struggle and found that he was in possession of a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun and 21.6 grams of marijuana.  The firearm’s serial number had been damaged beyond recognition.  Turner is being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $29,650 cash bond after being charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession with intent to deliver marijuana
  • Possession of firearm during commission of a felony
  • Possession of weapon with removed serial number
  • Carrying a concealed deadly weapon
  • Possession of firearm by person prohibited (previous felony conviction)
  • Resisting Arrest with Force (Felony Resisting)

Robbery at a Liquor Store in Dover

Complaint#:  50-15-4431     Date/Time:  Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10:20 PM

Location: H & H Liquors 1107 S. DuPont Hwy , Dover, DE 19901

Narrative: 

On Friday February 20, 2015 at 10:20 pm an unknown black male suspect entered the business of H & H Liquors located at 1107 S. DuPont Hwy in Dover, DE. The unknown suspect indicated to the clerk that he was armed with a gun and demanded money. The victim opened the cash register and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of currency. The suspect fled in a north bound direction from the business towards Evergreen Drive in Dover. With the assistance of a Dover Police K-9, a track of the suspect led officers to the area of River View Estates mobile home park. Officers checked the area of River View Estates mobile home park, however, the suspect was not located. The suspect was described as a black male wearing tan Timberland style boots, tan pants, a black leather jacket, a gray hoodie, gloves, and a piece of cloth covering his face. Man Wanted in Domestic Related Burglary 2-22-15

Incident #: 50-15-4493  Date/Time: February 21, 2015 at approximately 5:46PM

Location:  255 Webbs Lane (Pine Grove Apts)

Narrative:

Dover Police are seeking George Jones Jr. (34), of Dover, for a domestic related burglary that occurred on the afternoon of February 21st.  Jones girlfriend ended their relationship earlier in the day, causing Jones to respond to the area of her residence.  Once the victim left her apartment complex, Jones followed her for over an hour, sending 59 text messages and attempting to call her 119 times.  Some of the text messages were threatening in nature.  Jones eventually stopped following the victim and responded to her apartment, where he broke in by damaging the main door.  Once inside, Jones wrote vulgar messages on the door and stole/damaged numerous items inside the residence, including throwing bleach on several of the victims personal belongings.  Jones sent pictures of the damage inside the apartment to the victims cell phone.  George Jones Jr. now has warrants for 2nd Degree Burglary, Harassment, Terroristic Threatening, Theft Under $1,500.00, Criminal Mischief Over $1,000.00, and Disorderly Conduct.  Jones has not been located by police and has not been heard from since the incident.  He has a last know address in the 200 block of Chenault Court in Dover, DE.
