Date:  January 25, 2015

Location:  Railroad Tracks between Walker Road and Division Street

Officer Releasing Information:   M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has made an arrest in the murder of Jordan Peck, an 18-year-old man who was found dead on January 25th, 2015.  At approximately 10:29AM on that day, police responded to a section of railroad located between Division Street and Walker Road for the discovery of a body, later identified as Jordan Peck.  Jordan Peck had suffered two gunshot wounds, one to his upper torso and another to his head.  Detectives learned through phone records that Jordan Peck was supposed to meet Darryl Garner (21) prior to his death, a meeting confirmed by Garner and surveillance video obtained by detectives during the investigation.  Garner was questioned early on in the investigation and was untruthful with detectives about the case, despite the evidence that had been obtained by detectives at the time.  A search warrant led to the discovery of the clothing that was worn by Garner the night of Jordan Peck’s death.  The clothing was tested and was positive for gunshot residue.  With the addition of witness statements over the following months, detectives have arrested Darryl Garner for the murder of Jordan Peck.  Garner, who has been incarcerated since January 26th on unrelated charges of 2nd Degree Rape, was officially charged on Monday, November 9th for the following offenses:
-1st Degree Murder
-Possession of a Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm By Person Prohibited
