Two Arrested After Fleeing from Stolen Vehicle 11-21-16

Narrative:

Two Dover men have been charged after fleeing from police when they were occupying a stolen vehicle.  Dover police officers located a stolen Chrysler Sebring in the area of North DuPont Highway and Scarborough Road and followed the vehicle to the Capital Inn, where they attempted to stop the car.  At that time, three men fled on foot from the vehicle.  Tywon Peace (21) and Taheem Holmes (18) were apprehended during the foot chase.  The third suspect remains at large at this time.  Officer located a loaded .22 caliber revolver near the area that Peace was taken into custody.

Tywon Peace was committed to JTVCC on $17,500 cash bond on the following charges:
-Resisting Arrest
-Receiving Stolen Property
-Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree

Robbery at 7-11 on S. New Street 11-21-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery of a 7-11 convenience store that occurred on Saturday night.  The robbery happened at approximately 10:21PM when a male suspect entered the store and demanded cash from the employee.  The victim complied and the suspect fled northbound from the business.  The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7″-5’9″, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark mask/shirt on his face, white socks on his hands, black jeans, and black/white shoes.

Three Arrested for Heroin Possession 11-16-2016

Narrative:

Three people were arrested on drug related charges following a drug investigation by the Dover Police Department Street Crimes Unit and Delaware Probation and Parole officers.  Officers observed drug-related activity at a room at the Dover Inn, when they watched William Nieberg (29) and Anthony Fountain (24)leave in a white vehicle.  Officers stopped the vehicle and found the pair in possession of 78 bags of heroin.  Officers then conducted an administrative search warrant (Probation search) at the hotel room and found Tabetha Corron (21) inside the room.  Officers then located an additional 503 bags of heroin, $1,504 cash, and 85 hypodermic needles.

Man Shot in Parking Lot of Holiday Inn 11-14-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday afternoon.  A 19-year-old male was meeting an acquaintance in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn located at 561 N. DuPont Highway when an unknown suspect approached the driver side of the victim’s vehicle.  That suspect fired at the victim, striking him in the upper leg, and then fled in a silver vehicle.  The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent General for treatment of a broken leg as the result of the gunshot wound.

Home Invasion on S. New Street 11-13-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a home invasion with shots fired in the Unit Block of S. New Street.  The incident occurred at approximately 8:33PM, when an unknown black male suspect fired two shots into the front door of a residence, then kicked the door open. Once inside the home, the suspect pointed the gun at the 29-year-old female victim and demanded cash.  The victim complied and gave an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled in an unknown direction.

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest 11-13-16

Narrative:

A traffic stop as a result of using a cell phone while driving, led to the arrest of two people on various drug charges.  At approximately 2:09PM on Friday, November 11th, officers from the Street Crimes Unit stopped a black Pontiac G6 driven by Ashley Everett (32) with Keyatak Flowers (42) in the passenger seat for a traffic violation.  During the officers contact with the driver and passenger, they detected the odor of marijuana.  Flowers also provided a false name to the investigating officers.  Officers then detained both subjects and found a spring assisted knife that was 3.5″ in length, a deadly weapon. As the officers were detaining both subjects, Flowers fled on foot.  Officers attempted to stop Flowers by deploying a Taser.  Flowers then fought the officers attempts to take him into custody, striking one officer, causing minor injuries.  Flowers was then Tasered a second time, which allowed the officers to take him into custody.  When Flowers fled, he attempted to hide a bag under a nearby vehicle.  Officers found the bag and discovered 5.2 grams of crack cocaine, 13 bags of heroin, 2.8 grams of MDMA, and various drug paraphernalia.

Flowers was also wanted by four other agencies outside of Delaware and was also connected to an additional drug case in Dover.

As a result of the incident, Flowers was committed to JTVCC in default of $24,250 secured bond:
