Man Shot on S. New Street 2-8-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 42-year-old man that occurred on Tuesday evening.  Officers responded to the Unit Block of S. New Street for a report of shots fired.  While officers were on scene, information was received that the victim had driven himself to Kent General Hospital.  The victim was treated for multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and was hospitalized as a result of those injuries.

Burglary Suspect Arrested, Apprehended by DPD K9 2-6-17

Narrative:

The Dover Police K9 Unit apprehended a fleeing burglary suspect on Wednesday evening after he fled from arriving officers.  At approximately 7:01PM, officers responded to an occupied residence in the Unit Block of S. Governors Avenue for a burglary in progress.  When patrol units arrived, they attempted to contact suspect Henry Fordham (38), when Fordham fled on foot.  An arriving K9 officer located Fordham and deployed K9 Gerome to assist with the apprehension.  K9 Gerome successfully apprehended Fordham in the 300 Block of West Division Street.  While officers were attempting to handcuff Fordham, he bit an officers finger, causing minor injury.

Fordham was charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree, Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer, and Resisting Arrest.  A photo was not available at time of release.

Teen Robbed in Parking Lot of Dollar Tree 2-6-17

Narrative:

A 13-year-old male was assaulted during a robbery on Saturday evening in the parking lot of Dollar Tree at 261 N. DuPont Highway.  While walking in the area, the male victim was assaulted by two male suspects, striking him in the head and torso, knocking him to the ground.  The suspects then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim and fled southbound on foot.  The victim (with parents decision) did not seek medical treatment.  The suspects were described as black males with one wearing light color jeans, black jacket, white t-shirt, and black shoes.  The second suspect was wearing black jeans and a white hooded sweatshirt.

Residential Burglary on Vondaway Drive 2-6-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Sunday, February 5th, between 6:00PM and 10:41PM.  During that time, an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a home on Vondaway Drive by using a tool to pry open the front door.  Once inside, a 54″ Sony TV and a Playstation 4 were stolen.  At this time, no suspect information/description is available.
