Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a missing Dover man.  Eric Lyncha (21), was last seen at his employer (Dick’s Sporting Goods) in the Dover Mall at 4:50AM on Wednesday.  There is concern for Eric Lyncha’s safety due to previous existing conditions.  Lyncha operates a Blue Mazda 6 with DE Registration: 525816.

Three Shot in Towne Point Apartments Home Invasion 4-18-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Monday afternoon in the Towne Point Apartment complex.  The incident occurred at approximately 2:09PM in I Building.  The Dover Police Department initially received a call for an active home invasion inside of I Building.  While officers were rushing to the scene, several calls were received that numerous gunshots were fired in the area.  Arriving officers, found two men lying on the ground between I and G Building suffering from gunshot wounds.  Further investigation revealed that one of those men was a victim of the home invasion, who had exchanged gunfire with multiple suspects.  The second man who was shot, was a suspect from the home invasion.  Several hours later, a third person suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at Christiana Hospital.  It was learned that this person was involved in the home invasion and exchange of gunfire that followed.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the department will not be releasing any further information at this time.  An updated press release will be published once the investigation is completed.

5,200 Bags of Heroin, $1,011 Cash Seized During Traffic Stop 4-17-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Devron Powell (36, Dover) on numerous drug charges following a Monday morning traffic stop.  At approximately 10:45AM, the Dover Police Department Street Crimes Unit and Delaware Probation and Parole observed Powell driving a vehicle in the area of North State Street and Division Street, with a suspended driver’s license.  Once stopped, officers discovered 5,200 bags of heroin, 1.3 grams of marijuana, and $1011.00 in drug proceeds.  Powell was arrested without incident and will be charged with the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession of Heroin
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x2)
-Driving While Suspended

Shooting in Capital Green Neighborhood 4-17-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting of a 22-year-old man on Monday morning.  Officers responded to the alley between Sussex Avenue and Collins Drive for a reported shooting at 1:14AM.  Upon arrival, officers located the victims vehicle, but the victim had fled to a nearby business.  The victim was contacted and transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for gunshot wounds to the arm, abdomen, and leg.

The victims vehicle was transported to the Dover Police Department and a search warrant was obtained after a Dover Police K9 alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle.  During the subsequent vehicle search, officers located 65.1 grams of marijuana and a .22 caliber revolver n the vehicle.

As a result, the victim was charged with the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited

 

 

Arrest Made Following Drug Investigation 4-13-17

Narrative:

On 04/11/17 at approximately 6:03AM, officers from the Dover Police Drug Unit with the assistance of the Dover Police Special Operation Response Team and Delaware Probation and Parole, executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Barrister Place, Dover Delaware, concluding a 2 month drug investigation.

Felipe Goicuria (31) was taken in to custody without incident as a result of the warrant execution.  The following items were found inside of the residence:
– 209.4 grams of marijuana
– 850 bag (5.95 grams) of Heroin
– 30.0 grams of cocaine
– numerous items used for the packaging of heroin
– .44 Magnum ammunition
– Glock .45 caliber model 21 semi-automatic handgun

Felipe Goicuria was charged with the following offenses

1. Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
2. Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
3. Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited who also Possesses a Controlled Substance
4. Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana
5. Aggravated Possession of Marijuana in a Tier 1 Quantity
6. Possession with the Intent to Deliver Cocaine in a Tier 4 Quantity
7. Possession of Cocaine in a Tier 5 Quantity
8. Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin in a Tier 4 Quantity
9. Possession Heroin in a Tier 5 Quantity
10. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
11. Endangering the Welfare of a Child
12. Local Fugitive (Capias out of JP Court for Traffic)

Def-Goicuria was committed to JTVCC on $912,600.00 cash bail.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Tuesday, April 11th.  The incident occurred between 6:00AM and 6:26PM, when an unknown suspect entered a vacant residence by forcing open a rear door.  Once inside the home, the suspect stole jewelry, electronics, and gift cards before fleeing.

Shooting in Simon Circle 4-12-17

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting in the area of Simon Circle on Wednesday morning, just after midnight.  According to the 24-year-old victim, he was in the area of the Simon Circle Community Building when an unknown vehicle drove by with the front passenger holding a shotgun.  The victim stated that he took cover and watched the vehicle travel towards the entrance of Simon Circle when the passenger shot at him.  The victim returned fire with a handgun he was legally and openly carrying, and the suspect vehicle fled.  The victim suffered minor injuries to his hands and face and was treated at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.

Police Seek Hit and Run Suspect in Kenton Road Crash 4-12-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a Hit and Run Accident that occurred on Tuesday morning.  At approximately 11:31AM, police responded to the area of Kenton Road, just north of College Road for a vehicle that struck a tree.  Further investigation revealed that an older model black SUV (similar to GMC Jimmy or Chevrolet Blazer according to the victim) began tailgating the female victim on Kenton Road while traveling northbound.  The suspect attempted to pass the victim over a double yellow line, but suddenly sideswiped the driver side of the victim’s vehicle, causing her to go off the roadway and strike a tree.  The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.  The suspect continued to travel northbound on Kenton Road without stopping.  The suspect is described as a heavy-set white male with a goatee.
