Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in Towne Point Apartments on Friday night.  At approximately 10:01PM, officers responded to a call of shots fired in C Building.  Upon arrival, officers located a resident who stated that she was sitting inside of her residence when an unknown person knocked on the door.  She then heard a single shot, when the suspect shot through the door.  Three other persons were inside the residence.  No injuries were sustained by any of the occupants of the apartment.

Armed Robbery at Walgreen’s 12-26-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Walgreen’s on the night of December 24th.  The incident occurred when two suspects the business and proceeded to the pharmacy at the rear of the store. Once there, the suspects jumped the counter, displayed a firearm, and demanded pain pills from the pharmacy employee.  The employee did give the suspects undisclosed products and they fled from the store in an unknown direction.

Charges Pending in Counterfeit Sports Memorabilia Case 12-21-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit executed search warrants on two businesses inside of the Dover Mall for selling counterfeit sports merchandise.  Sports Fever and Christmas Treasures were both involved in the sale of counterfeit items.  Both stores are owned by Salvatore Argo (42), of Mountaintop, Pennsylvania.  As a result of the search warrants, the following items were seized:

– 87 MLB Counterfeit Jerseys
– 93 NBA Counterfeit Jerseys
– 15 NCAA Counterfeit Jerseys
– 9 MLB Counterfeit T-shirts
– 42 NFL Counterfeit T-Shirts
– 77 NFL Counterfeit Sweatshirts
– 7 MLB Counterfeit Sweatshirts
– 9 NBA Counterfeit Sweatshirts
– 1 NHL Counterfeit Sweatshirt
– 347 Counterfeit New Era Hats
– 29 Counterfeit Mitchell and Ness Hats
– 20 Counterfeit 47 Brand hats
– 8 Counterfeit Adidas Hats
– 13 Counterfeit Nike Hats
– 10 Counterfeit Reebok Hats
– 402 Counterfeit Photographs

Argo will face charges of Trademark Counterfeiting  as a result of this investigation.  Consumers who are concerns about the authenticity of purchased items should contact the businesses directly.

Man Arrested for Stalking Ex-Girlfriend 12-18-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Ralph Douglas Poore (55) for a single charge of Stalking after he appeared at his ex-girlfriends residence on Monday morning.  A neighbor observed Poore pull into the driveway of  a residence on Stoney Drive in a red Mercedes convertible, wearing a paramedic uniform and immediately recognized Poore.  The residence he parked in belongs to Poore’s former girlfriend.  When the neighbor observed and contacted Poore, he fled in his vehicle.  Poore was previously contacted in August of 2016 and advised that the former girlfriend wished to end all contact with him after he repeatedly made statements that placed her in fear for her safety.  He was later arrested in December 2016 by the Dover Police Department for a single charge of Harassment involving the same victim.  

Poore was arrested by the Dover Police Department at his place of employment, the Kent County Department of Public Safety building at 911 Public Safety Boulevard without incident on Monday morning and charged with Stalking.  Poore was released on $2,000 unsecured bond following an arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court #2.

Woman Shot on South New Street 12-5-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 23-year-old woman on Tuesday morning.  The shooting took place at approximately 12:22AM in the Unit Block of S. New Street.  The female victim was sitting in a parked vehicle with a 24-year-old male and a 1-year-old female when an unknown suspect fired several shots at the car.  The woman was shot once in the torso.  No other occupants were injured as a result.  Officers arrived on scene shortly after receiving several 911 calls of shots fired.  A few minutes later, the female victim was reported to be at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where she underwent treatment for her injury.

Two Women Robbed on North Bradford Street 12-3-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating the robbery of two women on Saturday evening.  At approximately 7:48PM, two women (20 and 22 years old) were walking south on North Bradford Street, just south of Mary Street.  While walking, an unknown black male suspect jumped out of some bushes nearby with his hands drawn and pointing at the victims.  The victims believed he was holding a weapon.  The suspect demanded money and fled on a bicycle with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect was described as a light/medium complexion black male, with a goatee, 5’8″-5’11”, thin-medium build, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
