Narrative:
The Dover Police Department arrested two people on drug charges on Tuesday morning after executing a search warrant at a residence in Brandywine Court Apartments. The search warrant led to the arrest of Shanaia Wright (19) and Teondre Bolden (17) after being found in possession of 119 doses of Alprazolam for sale. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and charged with the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance
-Possession of Controlled Substance
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
Wright was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Center in default of $82, 200 cash bond. Bolden was charged and released to his mother for a future court appearance.

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department arrested 50-year-old Douglas Curry on child pornography charges on Monday, February 19th. Curry took his cellphone to a Metro PCS store to have some work performed on it, when the employee noticed several photos of juvenile females. The employee notified police, who seized the phone as evidence, and took Curry into custody without incident. It was later learned that Curry purchased the images from various websites and had spoken to underage females as well. Curry was committed to JTVCC in default of $40,500 cash bond on the following charges:
-Dealing in Child Pornography
-Possession of Child Pornography
-Sexual Solicitation of a Child
Update: On Wednesday, February 14th, at approximately 3:30PM, Dover Police detectives were notified that there was also a female victim in the home invasion at Woodcrest Apartments that occurred earlier that morning. Both male victims failed to disclose to investigating officers at the time that there was a female in the home when the home invasion occurred. It was later learned that a 19-year-old female was also ordered to partially undress and was sexually assaulted by one of the suspects. Further investigation led to Mahdi Wilson (25) being identified as a suspect involved in the Woodcrest Apartment home invasion and sexual assault of the female victim. Wilson was arrested without incident on Friday, February 16th, 2018 at approximately 2:00PM by Dover Police detectives with assistance from the First State Fugitive Task Force.
The investigation into the Woodcrest Apartments home invasion, as well as others that recently occurred in the Dover area, remain under investigation at this time. Narrative:
The Dover Police Department is investigating an early morning home invasion that occurred at Woodcrest Apartments on Wednesday, February 14th. Police were notified of the incident at 3:25AM. Upon arrival, one of the male victims advised officers that he was leaving his residence at 1:30AM when he was approached by two black male suspects as he was shutting his apartment door. Both suspects forced entry into the residence, one armed with a black and silver handgun, and demanded money after forcing the victims to lay on the floor. The suspects then stole two XBOX game systems, jewelry, wallet, clothing, cellular phones, and vehicle keys. The victims feared getting up for a period of time, believing the suspects were still in the apartment. Once they got up, they discovered their cellphones had been stolen and had to notify police using a neighbor’s phone. The suspects were described as two black males, wearing all black clothing, and wearing black masks.

Narrative:
A Dover Police officer was injured while handling a loitering complaint on Thursday night. At approximately 7:28PM, a Dover patrol officer responded to the parking lot of WAWA located at 290 S. DuPont Highway, for a loitering complaint. Upon arrival, the officer observed Mario Westbrook (35) who matched the description provided on the call. The officer attempted to contact Westbrook, but he refused to comply and continued to walk away from the officer and then refused to provide his name or identification. As the officer attempted to detain Westbrook, he pulled away, taking a fighting stance. The Dover officer used a taser to subdue Westbrook, but it had no effect. Westbrook then removed backpacks he was carrying and began fighting with the officer while he attempted to take him into custody. Westbrook was successfully taken into custody when additional officers arrived on scene. As a result of the incident, the original responding officer suffered a fractured finger and a ruptured tendon on his left hand.
Westbrook was committed to JTVCC in default of $21,200 secured bond on the following offenses:
-Disorderly Conduct
-Assault 1st Degree (Law Enforcement Victim)
-Trespass 3rd Degree
-Resisting Arrest with Force (Felony)

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department with assistance from the City of Dover Fire Marshal’s office has made an arrest in an arson case from December 26th, 2017. At approximately 12:46AM, a suspect entered the parking lot of 613 Clara Street and set fire to an RV, causing $166,000 in damage. The fire also caused $16,000 in damage to a Capital School District bus. Dover Police detectives obtained surveillance footage of the property and in the surrounding downtown area, showing the suspect. Still photos were placed on social media asking for assistance from the public. After receiving multiple anonymous tips and utilizing surveillance footage, Amos Small (37) was identified as the suspect in the arson. Small was arrested without incident on February 13th, 2018 and released on unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Arson 2nd Degree
-Burglary 3rd Degree
-Reckless Burning

Narrative:
Multiple suspects attempted a residential burglary in the 100 Block of Teak Court on Tuesday morning. At approximately 1:55AM, 3-4 black male suspects kicked the front door open to a residence and yelled “Dover Police.” As soon as the front door was kicked open, the family dog charged towards the door, causing the suspects to flee eastbound on foot towards the Lexington Glen development. The suspects did not make entry into the residence.
