Residential Burglary on River Road 2-13-2018

Narrative:

On Monday, February 12th, 2018 at approximately 8:11PM, officers responded to a residence in the 400 Block of River Road for a residential burglary.  The resident advised that the home was vacant from 7:55AM until she returned at 8:10PM.  Upon arrival, the victim found the rear basement door kicked in.  The suspect(s) then stole two televisions, a laptop computer, an XBOX game system, cash, and clothing from the residence.

Burglary at Nationwide Insurance Office 2-13-2018

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at the Nationwide Insurance office, located at 905 N. DuPont Highway.  Officers responded to a burglary alarm at that location at approximately 12:55AM.  When officers, arrived they observed that the front door was open.  Officers cleared the building and discovered that a rear back window had also been broken.  After an employee responded, it was learned that the unknown suspect(s) stole a black ASUS laptop computer from the office before fleeing.

Home Invasion Robbery on Cecil Street 2-12-2018

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred early on Sunday morning.  Between 12:30AM-12:50AM, two unknown black male suspects entered an apartment in the 200 Block of Cecil Street.  One suspect was armed with a black/silver handgun.  Both of the suspects ransacked the residence and fled with one of the victims keys, cell phone, and wallet.  The suspects fled in a black 2015 Kia Soul with DE REG: PC36265.

DAFB Airman Charged with Rape of Juvenile 2-8-2018

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested an airman stationed at Dover Air Force Base for Second Degree Rape.  On November 14th, 2017, officers from the Dover Police Department were contacted by the guardian of a runaway 14-year-old girl who learned her daughter was staying in Dover Country Club Apartments with an unknown person.  Officers responded to the apartment and contacted the victim and Zepplin Taylor-McGinness (21).  The juvenile was returned to the guardian and the Dover Police Department and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations launched a joint investigation into the matter.  During the investigation, it was learned that Taylor-McGinness engaged in sexual acts with the victim on several occasions.  On February 5th, 2018, Dover Police detectives arrested Taylor-McGinness without incident and charged him with four counts of Second Degree Rape and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (harboring a runaway).  Taylor-McGinness was committed to JTVCC in default of a $100,050 secured bond.

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges for Dover Man 2-8-2018

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested 51-year-old Nathan Ward on drug charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday, February 6th, 2018.  At approximately 6:57PM, officers stopped Ward, who was operating a maroon Toyota Camry, for a traffic violation.  During the traffic stop, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Ward was found in possession of 2.8 grams of marijuana and 9.7 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale.  Ward was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following offenses:
-Possession of Crack Cocaine Tier 1
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

Ward was released on unsecured bond.

Dover Man Arrested on Gun Charges 2-2-2018

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Qadir Mosley-Thomas (24) on weapons charges following a firearms investigation.  ON Thursday, February 1st, 2018 at 1:09PM, officers contacted Mosley-Thomas in the 400 Block of S. New Street.  Mosley-Thomas attempted to flee from officers by running to the rear of a nearby restaurant where he attempted to conceal a loaded .25 caliber handgun, but was quickly taken into custody without further incident.  

Qadir-Mosley was committed to JTVCC in default of $27,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Resisting Arrest
-Tampering with Physical Evidence
-Violation of Probation

Drug Arrest at First State Inn 2-2-2018

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Terrace Berry (38) on drug charges following a drug investigation.  Berry was stopped in the parking lot of the First State Inn when officers located 19.3 grams of cocaine, 16.5 grams of marijuana, and $1,056 in drug proceeds on his person.  A search warrant was executed on the hotel room that Berry was staying in, but no additional items were located.  

Berry was committed to JTVCC in default of $70,750 bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Cocaine (Tier 3 Qty)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
