Route 13 in Front of Delaware State University Reopened

UPDATE: Route 13 is now reopened for travel but congestion remains in the area.  Please use caution when traveling.  A press release with further details will be released at a later time.

PREVIOUS RELEASE:

The Dover Police Department is on the scene of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Route 13 southbound and College Road.  As a result, all southbound lanes have been closed from the main entrance of Delaware State University to the  College Road intersection until further notice.

Man Arrested After Fleeing From and Assaulting Probation Officer 9-14-2018

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested 30-year-old Brad Kimble after he fled from officers and assaulted a probation officer.  The Dover Police Department was assisting Delaware Probation and Parole officers as they attempted to arrest Kimble who was a wanted probationer.  Kimble fled on foot from the officers.  Following the foot pursuit, Kimble continued to be combative.  Kimble’s actions resulted in a probation officer suffering a lacerated lip and requiring stitches at a nearby hospital.  

Kimble was committed to JTVCC in default of $12,000 cash bond on the following charges:
-Violation of Probation
-Assault 2nd Degree (Law Enforcement)
-Resisting Arrest with Force/Violence (Felony)
