How to Succeed in the Hiring Process Seminar

The Dover Police Department will hold a “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” seminar on Saturday, January 19th, 2019 in the Public Assembly Room of the Dover Police Department.  The Dover Police Department is located at 400 S. Queen Street, Dover, DE 19904.  The seminar is open to anyone interested in a career with the Dover Police Department as a police officer and will include information about the hiring process, application assistance, specialized units of the agency, and a tour of the police department.  You do not have to submit an application prior to attending.  Doors will open at 8:30AM and close promptly at 9:00AM with no late admittance permitted.

Three Arrested in Car Thefts After Fleeing from Police 12-10-2018

Narrative: 

Dover – The Dover Police Department arrested three suspects following a vehicle chase on Saturday morning.  Officers were checking the area of Capital Park after receiving a report of a stolen Toyota Prius from North America Avenue earlier in the day.  Shortly after that incident, Milford Police Department advised that a a Chevrolet Sonic had been stolen from a WAWA after a suspect exited a Prius in the parking lot.  While checking the area of Capital Park, officers observed both stolen vehicles at S. Governors Blvd. and Senator Avenue.  The operator of the Prius, later identified as Raiquan Fisher (17), abandoned the vehicle on Dover Circle and was picked up by Omari Marion (18), who was operating the Chevrolet Sonic.  The Sonic then began traveling southbound on Bay Road, where officers attempted to stop the vehicle.  The vehicle fled through the Blue Hen Corporate Center parking lot onto S. Little Creek Road, into Barrister Place, through an alley into the Stoney Creek development, and then into the Schoolview development where three occupants fled on foot.  All of the suspects were successfully apprehended by pursuing officers.  

Omari Marion (18) was committed to SCI in default of $9,760 cash on the following offenses: 
-Illegal Gang Participation
-Theft of a Motor Vehicle
-Receiving Stolen Property
-Disregarding Police Officer Signal
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Resisting Arrest
-Multiple Traffic Violations

Raiquan Fisher was committed to Stevenson House in default of $7,520 secured bond on the following charges:
-Illegal Gang Participation
-Theft of a Motor Vehicle
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Resisting Arrest
-Traffic Offenses
-Burglary 2nd Degree (outstanding warrant from unrelated case)

Harry Charles (13) was committed to Stevenson House in default of $7,500 cash bond on the following charges
-Illegal Gang Participation
-Theft of a Motor Vehicle
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Resisting Arrest

Drug Arrest at Dover Inn 12-6-2018

Narrative: 

Dover – The Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested Norman Singleton (40) on drug charges on Wednesday morning.  At approximately 10:45AM, Dover police assisted Delaware Probation and Parole with an Administrative Search of Singleton’s room at the Dover Inn.  Officers located 5.3 grams of crack cocaine packaged in 23 baggies for sale.  Singleton was arrested and committed to SCI in default of $6,500 secured bond and $10,000 cash bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Endangering Welfare of a Child
-Violation of Probation

Gold Alert Cancelled for 18-Year-Old Dover Man 12-5-2018

Update: The Gold Alert for Charles Kleinbard has been cancelled after being located safely in Wilmington, DE on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a missing 18-year-old. Charles Kleinbard was last seen on Monday, November 26th at approximately 12:00PM leaving an apartment in the 800 Block of Isabelle Aisle.  Kleinbard suffers from a condition that may pose a threat to his well-being if not monitored properly.  Kleinbard was described as a white, hispanic male, 5’9″, 119 pounds, with short brown hair.   If you have any information on Kleinbard’s whereabouts, please contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.

Body Found in Schutte Park Result of Suicide 12-4-2018

Location:   Schutte Park, 100 Electric Avenue, Dover, DE

Narrative: 

Dover – The Dover Police Department responded to the parking lot inside Schutte Park on Tuesday morning for the discovery of a body.  Upon arrival, officers located a 26-year-old male that was deceased.  The injuries sustained by the 26-year-old man as well as the evidence located at the scene indicate that the man died as a result of suicide.  The Dover Police Department will not be releasing the name of the man out of respect for the family.

Dover Police Investigating Fatal Motor Vehicle Incident 12-1-2018

Narrative: 

Dover – The Dover Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle collision that was possibly the result of a fatal medical situation.  At approximately 11:07PM, Jarvis James (65) was traveling northbound in the area of the 300 Block of N. Governors Avenue.  While traveling, James struck two parked vehicles on the shoulder of N. Governors Avenue and continued to travel northbound, eventually crossing the into the southbound lane and striking a Jeep that was traveling southbound.  The occupants of the Jeep were transported to a local hospital for their injuries and were listed as serious but stable condition at the time of release.  Based on early evidence, it is believed that Jarvis James suffered from a medical emergency that caused him to be incapacitated and possibly caused his death.
