Shooting on Haman Drive Injures 20-Year-Old Male 12-31-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a 20-year-old male in the 100 Block of Haman Drive on Tuesday morning.  At approximately 1:32AM, the male victim stated that he was taking out trash from a friends residence when he saw a green four-dour vehicle drive by.  The victim heard 4-5 gunshots and was struck in his thigh.  The victim ran back to his friend’s apartment and called 911.  The victim was treated at Kent General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  

The victim stated that there were four black males inside the vehicle, all wearing black hooded sweatshirts, and red face masks.

Shooting at Barrister Place Leaves Man Wounded 12-31-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 30-yearold man with wounds to his hand and thigh on Monday night.  At approximately 10:52PM, the male victim was in front of his home in the 400 Block of Barrister Place when he was approached by two black male suspects.  The suspects both displayed firearms and went through his pants pockets.  As the victim pulled away, one suspect fired two rounds, striking him once in the hand and once in the thigh.  The victim ran to a neighbors home, who then transported him the Kent General Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects were described as black males, wearing all black clothing, with black ski masks covering their faces.

Two Men Shot on S. New Street 12-30-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a a shooting incident that left a 19-year-old male and a 30-year-old male with non-life threatening injuries.  The incident occurred at approximately 2:47AM on Monday, December 30th, when the victims were approached by 5-6 unknown male suspects while they were on a porch of a residence in the 100 Block of S. New Street.  The subjects fired multiple times at the victims, striking each victim in the legs.  The suspects fled on foot towards S. Queen Street.  Both victims were treated at Kent General Hospital for their injuries.

Dover Police to Hold Two “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” Seminars 12-30-2019

How to Succeed in the Hiring Process Seminar

The Dover Police Department will hold two “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” seminars on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 and February 8th, 2020 in the Public Assembly Room of the Dover Police Department.  The Dover Police Department is located at 400 S. Queen Street, Dover, DE 19904.  The seminar is open to anyone interested in a career with the Dover Police Department as a police officer and will include information about the hiring process, application assistance, specialized units of the agency, and a tour of the police department.  You do not have to submit an application prior to attending.  Doors will open at 8:30AM and close promptly at 9:00AM with no late admittance permitted.

Home Struck by Gunfire on S. New Street 12-28-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the Unit Block of S. New Street Friday, December 27th, 2019 at approximately 9:12PM.  Officers responded to the area after receiving calls for shots fired in the area.  Upon arrival, it was learned that an occupied residence in the Unit Block of S. New Street was struck by gunfire.  No injuries resulted from the incident.

Residential Burglary on Lamplighter Lane 12-26-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the Unit Block of Lamplighter Lane on Wednesday morning.  At approximately 2:00AM, an unknown suspect entered the occupied residence through an unsecured rear sliding door.  Once inside, the suspect removed various electronics from the home before fleeing the residence.

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 100 Block of Holmes Street. The incident occurred between 9:00PM on December 23rd and 1:04PM on December 24th.  While the home was vacant during that period, an unknown suspect entered the residence through a rear window and removed suitcases full of clothing and shoes from the residence and fled in an unknown direction.
