Two Homes Struck by Gunfire on S. New Street 12-26-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of S. New Street and Reed Street on Tuesday, December 24th, 2019 at approximately 7:39PM.  Officers responded to the area after receiving calls for shots fired in the area.  Upon arrival, it was learned that two residences in the Unit Block of S. New Street were each struck by gunfire.  No injuries resulted from the incident.  

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Shots Fired at Intersection of Webbs Lane and S. DuPont Highway 12-24-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of the intersection of S. DuPont Highway at Webbs Lane on Monday night at approximately 9:10PM.  Arriving officers spoke to a 19-year-old male who advised that following a confrontation with a silver or tan van behind him, several shots were fired by the occupant(s) of the van.  The occupants were only described as several black males in their teens or early 20’s.  No injuries resulted from the incident, however the exterior of the Rite-Aid store at the intersection was struck twice. Several shell casings were also recovered from the scene.

Search Warrant Executed on Kirkwood Street Leads to Arrest/Seizure of 1,494 Bags of Heroin 12-10-2019

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department seized 1,494 bags of heroin and more in a search warrant that resulted in the arrest of Andre Blake (39) of Dover.  Officers executed the search warrant at a residence in the Unit Block of S. Kirkwood Street as a result of an investigation into heroin sales.  During the search, officers located 1,494 bags of heroin, 30 doses of Oxycodone,  5 doses of amphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Blake was arrested without incident and committed to SCI on a $102,500 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Heroin
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession of Controlled Substance
-Drug Paraphernalia

Vehicle Stop on River Road Leads to Drug and Firearms Charges for Milford Man 12-9-2019

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested 21-year-old Drekwon Scott of Milford, DE, on drug and firearms charges during a traffic stop on Sunday evening.  At approximately 7:38PM, Scott was stopped in the area of River Road and East Water Street for an equipment violation.  During the stop, officers detected a strong odor or marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 3 grams of marijuana, a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine under the driver’s seat, an additional magazine in the glove compartment of the car, and an additional 35 rounds of 9mm ammunition on the floor behind the driver’s seat.

Drekwon Scott was committed to SCI on a $3,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Firearms Arrest 12-9-2019

Location:  Saulsbury Road, north of Forrest Avenue, Dover, DE (Traffic Stop)

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a Felton man on drug and firearms charges during a traffic stop on Saturday morning.  At approximately 2:44AM, officers stopped Jimar Murphy (25) for a registration violation.  During the stop a Dover Police K9 alerted on the vehicle for narcotics.  A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 1.2 grams of crack cocaine, 1 gram of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded .40 caliber handgun which was hidden under the front seat of the car.

Jimar Murphy was taken into custody without incident and released on an O.R. bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Drug Paraphernalia

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a gold alert for a missing 54-year-old man.  Scott Johnson was last seen in the 100 Block of South State Street on Friday, December 6th.  He was wearing blue jeans, tan jacket, a black back pack, and sunglasses at the time.  Johnson has a condition that if not properly monitored, may cause him harm.
