Dover Man Arrested for Possession of AK-47 and Drug Charges 1-7-2020

Narrative:

Maurice Parker (24) has been charged with multiple weapons charges and drug charges by the Dover Police Department.  On January 2nd, 2020, officers stopped Parker on Kentwood Drive during a vehicle stop.  Parker was found to be in possession of 7.62 caliber rounds (AK-47 ammunition).  Delaware Probation and Parole then executed an administrative search at Parker’s residence on Persimmon Tree Lane.  That search led to the discovery of .45 caliber ammunition and 10 bags of heroin.  

At the time, Parker was charged with the following offenses:
-Possession of Ammunition by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Possession of Heroin
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Violation of Probation

After further investigation, police discovered evidence that Parker was in possession of the AK-47 firearm.  Parker was then charged with Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited.

Parker was committed to SCI on a $10,200 bond on all charges.

Subject Arrested on Drug and Firearms Charges on River Road 1-7-2020

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested 27-year-old Kacey White on firearms and drug charges following a foot chase on Monday afternoon.  Officers were contacting White as a result of a firearms investigation.  Officers had received a tip that included an image of White in possession of a firearm.  With assistance from the Wilmington, DE Police Department, White was identified from the image and officers attempted to contact him in the 500 Block of River Road.  

While fleeing from police, a loaded 9mm handgun with a 30 round magazine fell out of White’s waistband.  White was taken into custody a short time later.  Delaware Probation and Parole then executed an administrative search of a residence on River Road where White was living.  That search yielded a second handgun that was reported stolen to the Delaware State Police Troop 3.  In addition to the firearms, White was also found to be in possession of 15 bags of heroin.

White was committed to SCI in default of $114,000 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (3x)
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Receiving a Stolen Firearm
-Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number
-Tampering with Physical Evidence
-Possession of Heroin
-Resisting Arrest
-Violation of Probation

Dover Police Investigating Shooting Death of 15-Year-Old 1-7-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting death of Kainami Grant, a 15-year-old male from Milford, Delaware, that occurred on Monday night.  At approximately 9:49PM, officers responded to an alley at the rear of Paul Street, near Davis Circle, after the victim called 911 himself to report that he had been shot.  

Upon arrival, it was learned that the victim had been shot multiple times, but was conscious at the time of officers arrival.  Grant was quickly taken to Kent General Hospital by medical personnel, where he succumbed to his injuries.  

There were no witnesses in the area upon police arrival.  Grant, whose identity was not immediately known, had to be positively identified through fingerprints.  Once Grant was identified, officers were able to notify his next of kin of the incident.

Two Homes Struck by Gunfire on S. Governors Avenue 1-7-2020

Narrative: 

Two occupied homes were struck by gunfire on Monday evening in the Unit Block of S. Governors Avenue.  No injuries resulted from the incident, but the homes did sustain damage.  It was determined that an unknown suspect fired multiple shots in the area between S. New Street and S. Governors Avenue.
