Robbery of Pizza Delivery Driver 5-18-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery of a pizza delivery employee on Saturday night.  At approximately 9:52PM, a female employee was making a delivery in the 400 Block of Court Street when she was approached by two black male suspects who were wearing masks.  One suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and the second suspect was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.  The suspects approached the driver after the delivery and forced her to give an undisclosed amount of cash to them before the fled on foot.

Suspect Arrested Following Friday Morning Burglaries 5-15-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested Brian Bower (33) after he burglarized one business and attempted another on Friday morning.  At approximately 12:54AM, officers responded to Happy 13 Liquors, located at 262 S. DuPont Highway for an alarm.  The suspect used a large rock to break a glass door.  Once inside, the suspect stole several items from inside.  This business was also burglarized on May 13th, 2020.

At approximately 2:48AM, officers responded to an alarm at the Speedway gas station, located at 31 N. DuPont Highway.  Officers discovered that this business also had the glass broken by the suspect.  A short time later, officers located Brian Bower, who was wearing the same clothing seen in the Speedway and Happy 13 Liquors burglaries.  

Bower was taken into custody but hospitalized for an evaluation shortly after.

In addition to the two previously mentioned incidents, Bower will be charged with multiple counts of Burglary and related charges from the following incidents that have occurred in recent days:

-DOT Discount Tobacco
-El Nopal Restaurant
-Happy 13 Liquors (1st incident)

Bower has been charged in four additional burglaries in 2020 by the Dover Police Department prior to this recent string of incidents:

Gold Alert Cancelled for 87-Year-Old Dover Man 5-15-2020

UPDATE: The Gold Alert for Leon Battle has been cancelled after he was located and safely returned home.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Leon Battle (87) of Dover.  Battle was last seen leaving his home on Townsend Blvd. in a red 2009 Ford Escape (DE REG: DAV116).  He was wearing navy blue pants and a black and grey striped shirt.  He last spoke with a family member on the phone at approximately 1:30PM on May 14th, 2020 and stated he was on Route 301 in Maryland. Battle suffers from a condition that poses a threat to his health and safety.

Arrest Made in Hotel Room Robbery. 5-14-2020

UPDATE:  DeShaun Harris was arrested by the Dover Police Department on May 14th, 2020 at approximately 11:30AM at a home in the Unit Block of S. Governors Avenue without incident.  Harris was committed to SCI on a $92,500 secured bond on the following charges:
-Robbery 1st Degree
-Assault 1st Degree
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Burglary 1st Degree
-Wearing a Disguise During Commission of Felony
-Aggravated Menacing
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Assault 2nd Degree (2x)
-Theft

Location:   Kent Budget Inn, 383 N. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is searching for a suspect in a robbery that occurred on Sunday afternoon.  At approximately 12:38PM, two black males forced entry into a hotel room at the Kent Budget Inn and demanded cash while pointing a firearm at the three occupants.  The suspects stole one woman’s purse and an undisclosed amount of cash from another victim.  During the incident a male victim (36) sustained a minor laceration to his forehead after being struck by a suspect, a female victim (45) sustained a lip injury after being struck by a suspect, and a 60-year-old female sustained a lower leg injury that required surgery at Kent General Hospital.  

Detectives were able to review area surveillance and identify Deshaun Harris (42) as one of the suspects involved in the incident.  Harris has a last known address of Lebanon Road in Dover, DE.

Burglary at Happy 13 Liquors 5-14-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at the Happy 13 Liquor Store in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 13th, 2020.  The suspect broke a glass door by throwing a large rock at it.  Once inside, the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and the owner’s wallet that was inside the business.

Burglary at El Nopal 5-13-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at the El Nopal restaurant, located at 627 West Division Street.  At approximately 1:26AM on Tuesday, May 12th, an unknown suspect threw a large rock through the front door of the business.  Once inside, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash, sodas, and candy and fled.  The suspect returned a second time at approximately 3:11AM and took more consumable items before fleeing.
