Narrative:

On Saturday, March 27th at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers in the area of Boggs Drive and Buckson Drive observed a vehicle driving in the opposite direction/wrong lane of travel. The vehicle was stopped and the front right passenger (Alturo Pelzer, 20) fled on foot.  The driver (Fletcher Tilghman, 20) and two other passengers were detained.  Pelzer was located and arrested a short time later by officers searching the area.  Pelzer was wanted on a Violation of Probation (local fugitive).

Officers conducted a vehicle search and located 58 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and approximately 63 grams of PCP inside the car.  

Alturo Pelzer was charged with Resisting Arrest and committed to SCI on the Violation of Probation. 

Fletcher Tilghman was released on an O.R. bond on the following charges:
-Possession of PCP
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Traffic Offenses

Dover Man Arrested on Drug and Firearms Charges 3-26-2021

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Robert Jordan (42) on drug and firearms charges stemming from a drug investigation on Thursday afternoon.  Officers had obtained a search warrant for a room that Jordan was staying in at the Red Roof Inn on North DuPont Highway.  Prior t executing the search warrant, Jordan was seen leaving the hotel and was stopped by officers a short time later.  Jordan was taken into custody without incident and was in possession of 1.3 grams of crack cocaine, 45 bags of heroin, and $1,993 in drug proceeds.

Officers then went to the hotel and executed the previously obtained search warrant.  During that search, the following was located:
-18.4 grams of crack cocaine
-457 bags of heroin
-Drug paraphernalia
-$9,015 in drug proceeds

Continuing their investigation, officers later obtained a second search warrant for a storage unit belonging to Jordan on Jefferic Boulevard in Dover.  During that search, officers located an additional $5,360 in drug proceeds, a 12 gauge shotgun, and shotgun shells.  

Jordan was committed to SCI on a $38,000 secured bond on the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Heroin
-Drug Paraphernalia (2x)
-Endangering the Welfare of a Child
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)

Suspect Arrested in Whatcoat Church Burglary 3-25-2021

MARCH 25, 2021 UPDATE:  Jhaki Cannon turned himself in to the Dover Police Department on March 24th, 2021.  Cannon was also wanted on additional charges from separate incidents and multiple capias’ from Kent County courts.  Cannon was committed to SCI on a $7.200 cash bond.

 

MARCH 2, 2021 UPDATE: The Dover Police Department has identified 22-year-old Jhaki Cannon as the suspect responsible for the February 12th burglary at Whatcoat United Methodist Church.  Cannon is currently wanted for Burglary 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief.  If you have any information on Cannon’s whereabouts, please contact 302-736-7130.

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary of the Whatcoat United Methodist Church on Friday morning.  Between 6:48 a.m. and 7:14 a.m. a suspect entered the church by forcing open a door.  Once inside, the suspect caused an estimated $5,000+ in damages to church property.  The suspect is a black male, wearing a dark sweatsuit with a Looney Tunes logo on the front and was last seen fleeing south towards The Preserve at Whatcoat Apartments.  The images below show the suspect.  Both images are of the same suspect.  The differences are a result of lighting conditions/different cameras.

Gold Alert for Gerard Brown Cancelled 3-19-2021

UPDATE: The Gold Alert for Gerard Brown is cancelled after was located in the area of S. State Street and S. DuPont Highway at approximately 10:30 a.m.  Brown was transported to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.

The Dover Police Department is issuing a Gold Alert for an 84-year-old Dover man.  Gerald Brown left his home in the 300 Block of West Division Street sometime overnight and was discovered missing by his family on Friday morning after last being seen at 10:30 p.m.  Brown has dementia and requires supervision and treatment for his health and safety.  Brown is approximately 5’7″ tall and 125 pounds.

Dover Man Charged with 3rd Offense DUI After Striking Parked Car 3-19-21

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested James Parker (50) for a 3rd offense DUI after crashing into a parked vehicle on Thursday evening.  Officers responded to the incident at approximately 10:10 p.m. in the area of North Governors Avenue and Clara Street.  When officers arrived, they contacted Parker who appeared to be intoxicated.

Following a a DUI investigation, Parker was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.  This is Parker’s 3rd offense for DUI.

Parker was charged with  DUI (3rd offense) and  several traffic charges relating to the crash.  Parker was awaiting arraignment at the time of release.

Dover Man Arrested for Vehicular Assault and Drug Offenses Following DUI Related Crash 3-19-2021

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department arrested Brian Krolick (25, Dover) following a hit and run collision on Friday morning.  At approximately 12:10 a.m. officers received a call for a motor vehicle collision in the 200 Block of North Governors Avenue where Krolick’s vehicle struck the rear of another vehicle occupied by two people.  Krolick fled the scene and a witness continued to provide location updates over the phone.  Arriving officers observed Krolick running into an alley near Lakewood Place and Columbia Avenue and was arrested without incident.  A search of Krolick’s vehicle led to the discovery of three vacuum sealed bags containing approximately 1,454 grams of marijuana.

Arresting officers observed that Krolick appeared to be intoxicated at the time and transported him to Kent General Hospital for a blood draw.  While hospital staff were attempting to draw blood for the DUI investigation, Krolick kicked two Dover police officers.  

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Kent General Hospital for treatment of injuries that included a broken right leg and a brain injury.  The passenger was also treated at Kent General Hospital for treatment of an injury to their mouth as a result of the collision.

Krolick was committed to SCI on a $46,500 secured bond on the following offenses:
-Vehicular Assault 1st Degree
-Vehicular Assault 3rd Degree
-DUI
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Offensive Touching Law Enforcement (2x)
-Resisting Arrest
-Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident
