Dover Man Arrested on Drug Charges During Traffic Stop

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a Dover man  on drug charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon.  Officer stopped Gregory Bratcher (60) for a traffic violation in the area of Loockerman Street and South New Street.  Bratcher was found to be in possession of 14 grams of cocaine, 3.2 grams of marijuana, and $432 in suspected drug proceeds.  

Bratcher was released on an O.R. bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Cocaine

-Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
-Possession of Marijuana (Civil)
-Tampering with Physical Evidence
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Traffic Violations

Arrest Made in Harrison Drive Shooting that Injured 13-Year-Old

 

UPDATE (July 20, 2021): William Cooper (33) has been arrested in connection with the July 18th Harrison Drive shooting that wounded a 13-year-old boy.  Cooper was identified as the suspect during the investigation and a warrant was obtained for his arrest on July 18th.  Cooper was located in Maryland and arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.  Cooper will be held without bond in Maryland while he awaits extradition to Delaware.

Cooper will be charged with the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Assault 2nd Degree
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree
-Criminal Mischief

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday morning that left a 13-year-old male with a minor injury to his back.  The incident occurred when an unknown black male suspect rang a doorbell to a residence in the 1200 Block of Harrison Drive.  When the father answered the door, he observed the male suspect walking away.  The male suspect turned a fired multiple rounds before fleeing the area.  One of the rounds entered the home through an exterior wall, striking the 13-year-old in the back.  The round lost enough momentum as it penetrated the wall to only cause a minor laceration on the victim’s back. The 13-year-old was treated and released for his injury at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges During Traffic Stop

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a Dover man and woman on drug charges following a traffic stop on Monday afternoon.  At approximately 3:54 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Queen Street and Mary Street due to the driver (Malik Sutton) having a suspended license.  During the stop, officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana.  During a search of the vehicle, officers located 3.8 grams of marijuana.  During a search of Sutton and the passenger (Hornice Green), officers found 3 bags of heroin and .8 grams of crack on Green and 29.6 grams of crack cocaine on Sutton.  $1,746 in suspected drug proceeds was also found.

Green was released on a $3,500 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Drug Paraphernalia

Sutton was released after posting a $41,500 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Possession of Marijuana (civil)

Dover Police to Host “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” Seminar

The Dover Police Department will hold a “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” seminar on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 in the Public Assembly Room of the Dover Police Department.  The Dover Police Department is located at 400 S. Queen Street, Dover, DE 19904.  The seminar is open to anyone interested in a career with the Dover Police Department as a police officer and will include information about the hiring process, application assistance, specialized units of the agency, and a tour of the police department.  You do not have to submit an application prior to attending.  Doors will open at 8:30AM and close promptly at 9:00AM with no late admittance permitted.  The seminars typically end by 11:00AM.

Dover Man Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges

Narrative:

On Tuesday, July 13th, the Dover Police Department arrested Tyreese Payne (29) on drug and firearms charges.  Payne and a 29-year-old female passenger were stopped in a vehicle during a firearm and drug investigation.  Payne was found to be in possession of packaging materials commonly used for heroin.  Officers then executed a search warrant at Payne’s hotel room at the Dover Inn.  During that search officers located a .22 revolver that was later determined to be reported stolen out of Delaware State Police Troop 3, .9 grams of crack cocaine, .007 grams of heroin, .3 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

The 29-year-old female was released after being issued a civil violation for Possession of Marijuana.

Tyreese Payne was committed to SCI on a $123,600 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Receiving Stolen Firearm
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (3x)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver
-Possession of Marijuana
