Two Arrested on Spruance Road for Firearms and Drug Offenses

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested two subjects during a search warrant on Thursday afternoon in the 100 Block of Spruance Road.  Officers executed a search warrant at a residence following a firearms and drug investigation.  Carl DeShields (40) and Dyshaneeta McDougald (35) were taken into custody without incident.  During a search of the home, officers located a rifle, handgun, 5 grams of marijuana, and nearly $3,000 in stolen tools/power equipment.

 

DeShields was committed to SCI on a $84,300 cash bond on the following offenses: -Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (6x) -Endangering Welfare of a Child (2x) -Possession of Marijuana -Drug Paraphernalia

McDougald was released on an O.R. bond on the following offenses: -Receiving Stolen Property Over $3,000 -Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (2x) -Endangering Welfare of a Child (2x) -Possession of Marijuana -Drug Paraphernalia

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Thursday afternoon.  At approximately 2:18 p.m., officers responded to a vacant lot in the Unit Block of South Kirkwood Street for a report of multiple shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers located several shell casings in the area and contacted residents of the Unit Block of S. Queen Street that backs up to the area where the shooting occurred.  It was determined that no injuries resulted from the shooting but that two homes on S. Queen Street were struck by gunfire.  Witnesses reported that the suspects possibly fled in a black sedan.
