Wanted Camden Man Arrested On Weapons and Drug Charges

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Ryan Cox, 26, of Camden, who was wanted by the Delaware Gaming Enforcement, on weapons and drug charges Monday morning. The investigation began when Street Crimes Officers observed Cox in the area of the Dover Inn at approximately 11:51 a.m. The officers knew Cox to have an active warrant so they made contact with him. Cox was taken into custody without incident and found in possession of a loaded Glock 19 9mm handgun and 0.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine. 

Cox was transported to Dover Police where he was processed and arraigned.

Cox was committed to SCI on $30,200 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited(2x)
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of a Controlled Substance

Dover Police to Host “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” Seminar

The Dover Police Department will be hosting a “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” seminar on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. The seminar is open to anyone interested in a career with the Dover Police Department as a police officer and will include information about the hiring process, application assistance, specialized units of the agency, and a tour of the police department.  You do not have to submit an application prior to attending and there is no need to register for the event.  Doors will open at 8:45AM and close promptly at 9:00 a.m. with no late admittance permitted.  The seminars typically end by 11:00 a.m.

Kershaw suffers from a condition that may pose a risk to her health and safety if not properly monitored and treated. Kershaw is described as a white female, approximately 5’1″ and approximately 107 pounds, brown hair, blue eyes. Kershaw left her residence in the 600 block of North Bradford Street at approximately 4:55 p.m. operating a maroon 2012 Mazda 5, with a Delaware Registration 38400, headed toward North Little Creek Road in Dover however she has not been seen or heard from since.

Thomas is described as a white female, approximately 5’4″ and 120 pounds, blonde hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing a maroon shirt, black pants, and gray and black new balance sneakers. Thomas was last seen in the area of the Super Lodge Motel on Monday February 20, 2023.

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Paris Waters, a 36-year-old male of Townsend, DE. Waters suffers from a condition that may pose a risk to his health and safety if not properly monitored and treated. Waters is described as a black male, approximately 6’1″ and 180 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and dark pants. Waters was last seen in the area of Bayhealth Kent Campus at approximately 3:54 a.m. on January 26th.

Juvenile Arrested For Arson at YMCA

The Dover Police Department has arrested a 15-year-old, of Dover, for the arson that occurred at the YMCA, 1137 South State Street Dover, DE , on February 16, 2023. During the investigation, Detectives were able to identify the 15-year-old and obtain warrants for his arrest. On Saturday, February 18th, 2023, the 15-year-old turned himself in to Dover Police. 

He was committed to Stevenson House Juvenile Detention Center on $56,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Arson First Degree
-Reckless Endangering First Degree (Multiple counts)
-Criminal Mischief

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating an arson that occurred at the YMCA Thursday evening. The investigation began at 4:48 p.m. when Dover Police was notified of a fire at the YMCA. Officers responded and spoke to Dover Fire Department personnel who advised that someone intentionally set a fire in the bathroom which caused damage to the building. City of Dover Fire Marshal’s Office and Dover Police’s Criminal Investigations Unit are investigating.

No suspect description is being released at this time as Detectives are still reviewing surveillance.

Dover Man Injured In Shooting on Village Drive

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday afternoon, leaving a 23-year-old Dover man injured. The investigation began when Dover Police received a call for a shooting in the unit block of Village Drive at 3:57 p.m. Officers responded and located the victim who had sustained a gun shot wound to his lower body. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Detectives are working to obtain a suspect description at this time.
