Dover Man Arrested For Burglary at Dover Public Library

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Alexander Melero-Almodovar, 25, of Dover, for Burglary following an alarm call at the Dover Public Library. The investigation began when Police were called to the Library at 6:22 p.m. for a burglary alarm inside. Dispatchers were able to remotely view cameras from the Library which revealed Melero-Almodovar was inside, hiding behind a desk. The library had been closed since 5:00 p.m. and no one should have been inside. Officers made entry into the library and took Melero-Almodovar into custody without incident. Further investigation revealed that while inside the library, Melero-Almodovar removed an undisclosed amount of money from a desk. Melero-Almodovar was transported to Dover Police where he was processed and arraigned.

Melero-Alomodovar was released on his own recognizance on the following charges:
-Burglary 3rd Degree
-Theft under$1500

Dover Man Arrested Following Stabbing

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Sean Lucas, 46, of Dover, on weapons charges and assault charges following an altercation on South State Street Friday evening. The investigation began when officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South State Street for an unknown altercation. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim, a 53-year-old male of Dover, with a laceration to his upper body that was caused during an altercation with the suspect. While speaking with the victim and witnesses on scene, it was determined that the suspect was still nearby. Officers checked the area and located Lucas, who matched the description provided by witnesses. Lucas was taken into custody without incident and found in possession of a box cutter type knife. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment. Lucas was transported to Dover Police where he was processed and arraigned.

Lucas was committed to SCI on $122,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Assault First Degree
-Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Anna Dinan, 62, of Claymont. Dinan suffers from a condition that may pose a risk to her health and safety if not properly monitored and treated. Dinan is described as a white female, approximately 5’1″ and approximately 123 pounds, blonde/strawberry hair, and brown eyes. Dinan was last seen leaving Bayhealth Kent Campus on April 6, 2023. It is unknown what she was wearing at the time.

Burglary on Eiger Court

Date/Time: Between Friday, April 7, 2023 at 9:00 p.m. and Saturday April 8, 2023 at 8:30 a.m.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred overnight Friday on Eiger Court.  The investigation began at approximately 9:42 a.m. Saturday, when Dover Police received a call for a burglary at a residence on Eiger Court. Officers responded and the ensuing investigation revealed that between 9:00 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, a suspect entered an unsecured garage door and entered the home. While inside, the suspect removed several items belonging to the victim and fled on foot. The residents were sleeping upstairs when this incident occurred.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Shawn Valentine, 29, of Bear. Valentine suffers from a condition that may pose a risk to his health and safety if not properly monitored and treated. Valentine is described as a black male, approximately 6’1″ and approximately 150 pounds, brown hair, and brown eyes. Valentine was last seen in the 200 block of Trafalgar Drive. At the time, he was wearing a grey hat, black shirt, and black shorts, driving a white 2014 Infiniti QX6 with Delaware registration PC276500. Attempts to contact him have been negative.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred Wednesday at in the unit block of Lakeview Drive.  The investigation began at approximately 9:28 p.m., when Dover Police received a call for a burglary at a residence on Lakeview Drive. Officers responded and observed damage to a rear window. The ensuing investigation revealed that between 11:00 a.m. and 9:28 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) broke into the home through the rear window and once inside, the suspect(s) damaged items in the home and removed an undisclosed amount of property.

Burglary at Country Club Apartments

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred Wednesday at Country Club Apartments.  The investigation began at approximately 3:29 p.m., when Dover Police received a call for a burglary at an apartment in the complex. Officers responded and observed damage to the front door of the apartment. The ensuing investigation revealed that between 11:00 a.m. and 3:29 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) forced the front door to the apartment open to gain access. Once inside, the suspect(s) damaged property inside of the residence and removed an undisclosed amount of property.
