Firearms Investigation Leads to Arrest 6-4-26

Narrative: The Dover Police Department arrested 19-year-old Elijah Johnson on firearms charges on Monday (June 1st) morning. Prior to the arrest, patrol officers observed Johnson on surveillance video in the area of the State Street Alley in possession of a firearm but was unable to be identified by video. Further investigation led to Johnson’s identification and that he was wanted on other charges. Using the information obtained by the patrol officers, the Dover Police Street Crimes and Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime (DVOC) units conducted a firearms investigation on Johnson. On Monday, June 1st, at 11:22 A.M., Johnson was contacted by officers and arrested in the 100 Block of South Governors Avenue with a 9mm handgun in his possession with no serial number.
Johnson was committed to SCI on a $50,000 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited
-Noncompliance with PFA
