Burglary at Journey’s Shoe Store 5-3-2019

Narrative: 

Dover Police are investigating a commercial burglary that occurred at Journey’s inside of the Dover Mall.  The incident occurred overnight between 10:00PM on May 1st, 2019 and 6:00AM on May 2nd, 2019.  During that time, an unknown suspect(s) entered the Dover Mall through an unsecured door.  Once inside, the suspect broke through a metal roll-up grate and entered the Journey’s shoe store.  Once inside, the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers before fleeing.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous.  Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delawarecrimestoppers.com; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.

Two Charged with Firearms and Drug Offenses 5-2-2019

Narrative: 

On May 1, 2019, officers from the Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole concluded an investigation into a suspect that fled from officers on an ATV on a prior date.  As a result of that investigation, Corey Lewis (29) was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon.  Officers obtained a search warrant for Lewis’ home in the Unit Block of South New Street.  During the search, officers located the following items inside the home:
-2 handguns
-92.3 grams of marijuana
-624 bags (4.4 grams) of heroin

Corey Lewis (29) and Shirmeria Brinson (32) were taken into custody without incident.

Corey Lewis was charged with the following offenses and committed to SCI in default of a $61,700 cash bond:
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (4x)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Heroin
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Traffic Offenses
-Possession of Ammo by Person Prohibited

Shirmeria Brinson was released on an O.R. bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (4x)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Heroin
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Drug Paraphernalia

Burglary at Subway Restaurant 5-1-2019

Date/Time:  Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 at approximately 4:54AM

Location:  Subway, 991 Forest Street, Dover, DE

Narrative: 

Dover Police are investigating a commercial burglary that occurred at the Subway restaurant on Forest Street.  The incident occurred at approximately 4:54AM, when a suspect entered the business through an unsecured window.  Once inside, the suspect gained access to a safe and removed an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.  The suspect is believed to be a male, approximately 5’8″-10″, 180-200 lbs., wearing a grey flannel shirt/jacket, black pants, and black sneakers.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Gold Alert Cancelled for Elderly Dover Man 4-23-2019

UPDATE: The Gold Alert for Ismael Cruz has been cancelled after he was located and returned to his residence in good health.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a Dover man. Ismael Cruz (71) was last seen when he was dropped off at his home on Oak Drive at approximately 2:40PM by a Modern Maturity Center Bus.  Cruz is a white, hispanic male that is 5’6″ tall, weighs approximately 160 pounds, and has a darker complexion.  Crus was last seen wearing an unknown color baseball hat, denim jacket, gray “Champion” sweatshirt, blue jeans, and blue/gray sneakers.  

Cruz suffers from dementia and there is concern for his safety.

Gold Alert Cancelled for Missing Dover Man 4-23-2019

UPDATE:
The Gold alert issued for Frank Danner (73) has been cancelled after he was located and returned home safely.

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a Dover man.  Frank Danner (73) was last seen at approximately 2:00PM on April 20th, 2019.  He failed to report for work in Sussex County on Monday, April 22nd, 2019.  Danner’s vehicle was left at the residence.  Danner is a white male, approximately 5’5″ tall and 130 pounds.  It is unknown what clothing he may have been wearing at the time he went missing.
