Burglary At Jolly Joe’s Liquor Store

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at Jolly Joe’s Liquor Store, 1160 Whiteoak Road Dover, DE early Thursday morning. The investigation began when Dover Police was called to the business at 3:12 a.m. for a burglary alarm and it was reported that multiple suspects had entered the store. Officers responded and found the suspects had broken the front door allowing them to gain entry into the business. Through the investigation, it was revealed that four suspects broke into the business and once inside, they stole an undisclosed amount of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. The suspects fled the area and have not been located. The suspect descriptions are as follows;

Suspect 1: unknown gender, light skinned, red jcket and gray pants
Suspect 2: light skin male with black jacket and dark pants
Suspect 3: black male with black hooded sweatshirt and white/gray/black pants
Suspect 4: black male with white top and black pants.

Dover Woman Arrested After Assaulting Officer and Resisting Arrest During Traffic Stop

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Tailah Smith, 21, of Dover, after she resisted arrest and assaulted an officer during a traffic stop Tuesday evening. The incident began when a patrol officer observed Smith commit a traffic violation while she was operating a vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop and Smith immediately exited her vehicle and became confrontational with the officer. The officer attempted to detain Smith, at which time she punched the officer in the face and upper body. After a struggle with several officers, Smith was taken into custody without further incident. The officer punched by Smith sustained a minor injury to his lip and his left hand however he refused medical treatment. His watch was also broken during the struggle with Smith. Smith was transported to Dover Police where she was processed and arraigned.

Smith was released on $9,702 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Assault Second Degree; Injures a Law Enforcement Officer
-Resisting Arrest with Force (4x)
-Resisting Arrest (3x)
-Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
-Disorderly Conduct
-Failure to Signal Within 300 Feet of Turning
-Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Adja Fatouseck, a 25-year-old female of Dover, DE. Fatouseck suffers from a condition that may pose a risk to her health and safety if not properly monitored and treated. Fatouseck is described as a black female, 6’3″, approximately 175 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes. Fatouseck was last known to be in the area of Maranatha Church, 1235 E Division Street Dover, DE at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Monday, 1/2/23 and it is unknown what she was wearing at the time.

Dover Police to Host “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” Seminar

The Dover Police Department will be hosting a “How to Succeed in the Hiring Process” seminar on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. The seminar is open to anyone interested in a career with the Dover Police Department as a police officer and will include information about the hiring process, application assistance, specialized units of the agency, and a tour of the police department.  You do not have to submit an application prior to attending and there is no need to register for the event.  Doors will open at 8:30AM and close promptly at 9:00 a.m. with no late admittance permitted.  The seminars typically end by 11:00 a.m.

Dover Police Detective Wins Crime Stoppers Officer of the Year Award

Dover – Dover Police Detective Timothy Mullaney Jr. received the Robert J. Seinsoth Memorial Award as the 2022 Delaware Crime Stoppers Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, at a Chiefs of Police Council ceremony held earlier this month. Detective Mullaney is a six year veteran of the Dover Police Department, currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit as a Detective.

Detective Mullaney was nominated for his work on a rash of nighttime commercial burglaries from August 6, 2021 thru October 5, 2021, throughout the City of Dover. Detective Mullaney became the lead investigator on these cases and eventually made an arrest in this case. As a result of the arrest, Detective Mullaney conducted a search warrant at the suspects residence. The search warrant resulted in the recovery of the clothing items worn during the burglaries, the tools used to commit the crimes, money bags from some of the burglaries, and a safe that had been thrown in the lake behind the apartment complex.

Detective Mullaney is a highly skilled investigator and is also known as a team player amongst his peers.  Detective Mullaney is relentless when it comes to solving crimes.  He is a true asset to the Criminal Unit, the Dover Police Department and the citizens of the City of Dover.

Dover Police Investigate Stabbing

Date/Time:  Monday, December 19, 2022, at 2:45 a.m.

Location: St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 425 North DuPont Highway, Dover, DE

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident that left a 30-year-old Milford man injured. The investigation began at approximately 03:01 a.m., when Dover Police received a report that the victim was at a hospital in Milford, DE advising he was shot. The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim was at a party at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Dover when he got into an altercation with a black male with long hair, during which time he was stabbed. The victim was transported to the Milford area hospital in a private vehicle and dropped off. The victim was treated at the Milford area hospital and listed as “non critical” condition. 

No further suspect description was provided.
