Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at Dominion Cars on West Division Street.  The incident occurred sometime between Friday, August 2nd at 5:00PM and Saturday, August 3rd at 8:40AM when an unknown suspect(s) entered the business by breaking a front window.  Once inside they damaged other windows before stealing a white Toyota Solara from the parking lot.  

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Suspect Wanted in Rockford Crossing Home Invasion 8-3-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is seeking a suspect in connection with an afternoon home invasion in the Unit Block of Rockford Crossing.  At approximately 2:21PM, Kampta Sharma (24), entered a female victim’s (acquaintance) home by kicking open the front door.  Once inside, Sharma struck the female victim in the head with a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect was identified shortly after the incident and Sharma is currently wanted by the Dover Police Department on the following charges:
-Home Invasion
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Criminal Mischief
-Theft
-Assault 2nd Degree

Four Gang Members Arrested in Cannon Mills Neighborhood 8-2-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested four gang members during a search warrant at a residence in the 200 Block of East Sheldrake Circle on Thursday afternoon.  The warrant was the result of an investigation into the “52 Hoover Gangster Crip” and “23 Baby Insane Crip” gangs which led to officers learning that the members were using a home in the 200 Block of East Sheldrake Circle for illegal drug sales.

During the search warrant, officers located a .40 caliber handgun, 80 grams of marijuana packaged for sale, 17 doses of MDMA, $832 in drug proceeds, digital scales, and packaging material.  

Jahheam Taylor (19) was committed to SCI in default of $68,200 cash bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (with Drugs)

Burglary at Enterprise Car Rental 8-2-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at Enterprise Car Rental on Friday morning.  At approximately 12:58AM, officers responded to the business for an alarm activation.  Upon arrival, officers observed that a front window had been broken.  Surveillance footage showed that two black male suspects broke the window with a hammer and made entry.  Once inside, the suspects appeared to take miscellaneous items/electronics and then attempted to use vehicle key fobs to unlock vehicles in the parking lot, but failed.  The suspects then fled.

Both suspects appear to be 5’7″-6′” in height and average weight.  The first suspect was covering his face with a hood from a dark colored hooded sweatshirt he was wearing.  The sweatshirt had three white stripes on each side with an Adidas logo on the front.

The second suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with writing on the front, white and black faded jeans, an orange belt, black shoes, and a green “mask” covering his face.

Gold Alert Issued for Missing 18-Year-Old Dover Man 8-1-2019

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a Dover man.  Anthony Yeagley (18) was last seen in the area of Owen’s Manor on S. Queen Street at approximately 11:00AM on August 1st, 2019.  Yeagley has made statements to family that are concerning for his health and safety.  If you have any information on Yeagley’s whereabouts, please contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.

Two Arrests Made in July 4th Shooting 8-1-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department has arrested two suspects involved in a shooting on the 4th of July.  At approximately 6:24PM, a 22-year-old victim entered his apartment in the 100 Block of Katrina Way and found three suspects inside of his apartment.  The victim confronted the suspects and noticed his bedroom was in disarray and money had been taken, at which point the suspects fled on foot.  The victim gave chase, when one suspect (Jason Brittingham, 18) turned and fired a gun, striking the victim once in the left side.  The bullet went through the victim and entered a home through an exterior wall.  The victim was able to identify two of the three suspects because they were known to him.

Christopher Evans (17), was apprehended by the Dover Police Department and US Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force in the downtown Dover area on July 30th, 2019.  He was committed to Stevenson House on the following charges:
-Burglary 2nd Degree
-Assault 2nd Degree
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree
-Criminal Mischief
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree

Jason Brittingham (18) was arrested by the US Marshals on July 30th, 2019 in Raleigh, North Carolina and is being held pending extradition on the following charges:

Arrest Made in Robbery of 72-Year-Old Woman 7-31-2019

Location: Parking lot Dover Federal Credit Union, 255 N. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested 33-year-old Roy Wrenn of Smyrna after committing a robbery against a 72-year-old female on Wednesday, July 31st.  At approximately 11:14AM, the victim was walking to the Dover Federal Credit Union, when Wrenn approached from behind and stuck something against her back and demanded her belongings.  Wrenn forcefully removed her purse from her shoulder and fled.  

Surveillance footage showed Wrenn wearing a black t-shirt with a large white eagle on the front and blue jeans.  Officers located Wrenn a short time later in the area of New and Reed Streets wearing the same clothing.  Wrenn was contacted and taken into custody without incident.  Wrenn will be charged with a single count of 2nd Degree Robbery.  Bond information was not available at the time of this release.
