Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary at WorkPro Occupational Health that occurred on Saturday morning.  Between 2:10-2:54AM, officers responded to a nearby Walgreen’s for an alarm.  As they checked the business, they observed four black males exiting the rear of the WorkPro.  The suspects dropped a black bag containing a laptop computer and hearing test equipment and fled.  Officers were unable to capture any of the suspects but recovered the property.

UPDATE: Shots Fired in Area of River Road and Water Street 9-28-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday night.  At approximately 10:01PM, a male and female victim were driving in the area of River Road and Water Street when a burgundy SUV with dark tinted windows pulled along side.  Shots were fired out of the SUV at the victims’ vehicle, striking the driver side door three times.  Neither occupant of the vehicle suffered injuries from the incident.

Narrative:

Members of the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force with Dover Police and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested three men following a traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon.  At 3:03PM, officers stopped a maroon/burgundy SUV in the area of Leipsic Road and N. DuPont Highway when it was learned that Corey Harris (21) was an occupant.  Harris was wanted for a shooting incident on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 on River Road in Dover.

Harris was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun when taken into custody.  The front seat passenger, Hakeem Gibson (21), was also found to possess a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine and 10 bags of heroin.  The driver, Jamel Littlepage (22), had a loaded 9mm handgun and 28.7 grams of marijuana under the driver seat of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle also led to the discovery of 9.1 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and one bag of heroin.  All three suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Dover Police Announce Trick-or-Treat Event 9-26-2016

The Dover Police Department is excited to announce its First Annual Safe Trick-or-Treat event.  On October 28th, from 6:00PM-7:30PM, streets surrounding Legislative Mall will be filled with police cars, fire trucks, emergency equipment, local businesses, and organizations as costumed children Trick-or-Treat at each display.  Families will have a chance to meet their local police and fire personnel, explore the vehicles and equipment they use, get to know more about local businesses and organizations and what they offer to the community, all while Trick-or-Treating.

There is no cost for any of the events or activities for attendees.  Each child will receive a custom Dover Police Trick-Or-Treat bag (1st 1,000 kids).  While there is no age limit to attend, we kindly request that only children 13 and under Trick-or-Treat.  Costumes are NOT required.

The roadways surrounding Legislative Mall will be closed to traffic and parking beginning at 5pm to ensure the safest conditions for attendees and allow them to freely explore all the historic area has to offer.  Streets that will be closed include:
Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (North and South) from Legislative Avenue to Federal Street and Legislative Avenue and Federal Street between North and South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Search Warrant Leads to Charges for Seven People 9-26-16

Narrative:

A total of seven people were charged with drug offenses following a search warrant on Friday, September 23rd.  At approximately 12:15PM, officers from the Dover Police Department and Special Agents from the ATF conducted a search warrant at a home in the Unit Block of North New Street following a drug investigation.  As a result of the search warrant, officers located 2.5 grams of crack cocaine, 49 bags of heroin, marijuana, and various items of drug paraphernalia.  The following persons were arrested and charged with the listed offenses following the execution of the warrant.

Residential Burglary on Jefferson Court 9-19-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred sometime after 10:30PM on Saturday and 1:48AM on Sunday.  The suspect(s) used a rock to break  the glass to the rear door of the residence in the 1100 Block of Jefferson Court and unlock the door.  Once inside, the suspect stole a 35″ JVC flat screen television and a 50″ RCA flat screen television.  They then fled out the back door and climbed over a fence.

Arrest Made in Attempted Burglary 9-16-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested Steven Eichler (22) for the attempted burglary of Mid-Atlantic Pawn early Friday morning.  Officers were responding to an alarm call at a neighboring business, and found Eichler on site.  Eichler was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following offenses:
-Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree
-Wearing a Disguise During Commission of a Felony
-Criminal Mischief
-Possession of Burglar’s Tools

Bond information was not available at time of release.

Two Arrested During Search Warrant Following Drug Investigation 9-16-16

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested two people while executing a search warrant stemming from a drug investigation.  On Thursday, September 15th at 6:07AM, the warrant was executed in the H Building of Cedar Chase Apartments.  Antwan Freeman (34) and Keisha Nkop (29), were located inside the residence  and taken into custody without incident.  There was also three children (Ages: 12, 9, and 2) inside the home, who were later turned over to other family members.  Officers located 2 handguns, 19.3 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), 504.4 grams of marijuana, paraphernalia, and $816.00 in suspected drug proceeds.  One of the two handguns was determined to be stolen in Maryland in an unrelated case.

As a result of the investigation, Antwan Freeman was charged with the following offenses:
