The Dover Police Department is cancelling the gold alert for Ishmael Allen-Wesley. He has been located and is safe.
Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for Ishmael Allen-Wesley, 20, of Sharon Hill, PA. Allen-Wesley suffers from a condition that may pose a risk to his health and safety if not properly monitored and treated. Allen-Wesley is described as a black male, approximately 6’4″ and approximately 170 pounds, brown hair, and brown eyes. Allen-Wesley was last seen in the 200 block of North Kirkwood Street on Wednesday evening. At the time, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and brown Ugg boots.

**UPDATE 04/05/2023** The victim in the motorcycle collision from April 2, 2023 has been identified as 45-year-old Michael Jones of Newark, NJ. Sadly, Jones succumbed to his injuries on Monday, April 3, 2023 while receiving treatment at a New Castle County Hospital.
The Dover Police Department is still evaluating the facts and circumstances of this case and investigation is ongoing.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a serious crash involving a vehicle and motorcycle, that left a 45-year-old male from Newark, NJ, seriously injured Sunday evening. The investigation began when Dover Police was called to the area of North Governors Avenue and Cecil Street at 6:48 p.m. for the report of a serious vehicle collision. Officers arrived on scene and located the 45-year-old male who had sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. The victim was initially transported to a nearby hospital, however, he was later airlifted to a New Castle County hospital for further treatment.
The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim was traveling northbound on North Governors Avenue on a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle approaching Cecil Street. At the time, a 2020 Dodge Durango, operated by a 68-year-old male of Dover, was on Cecil Street and turned onto North Governors Avenue into the path of the victim, causing the vehicles to collide and the victim was ejected from the motorcycle.
The Dover Police Department is still evaluating the facts of this case and at this time there have been no charges filed.

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Christopher Houck, 25, of Dover, and Ontia Lofland, 25, of Laurel, on several charges following a pursuit in a stolen vehicle Monday night. The investigation began when Officers observed a White Ford Transit van in the area of South State Street and East Water Street. A records check revealed the vehicle was reported stolen. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at which time it fled and a pursuit began throughout the City. The pursuit ultimately ended on Savannah Road in Dover when the vehicle got stuck in a field. The occupants were taken into custody without incident and identified as Houck and Lofland. Through further investigation, Houck was linked to stealing a City of Dover vehicle over the weekend. Both individuals were transported to Dover Police where they were processed and arraigned.
Houck was committed to SCI on $4,350 cash bail on the following charges: -Theft of a Motor Vehicle -Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree -Receiving Stolen Property -Failure To Stop on Police Command -Numerous Traffic Offenses
Lofland was released on her own recognizance on the following charge: -Receiving Stolen Property

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Jeremiah Sanquist, 32, of Hartly, on weapons charges and assault charges following an altercation at an apartment early Sunday morning. The investigation began when officers responded to Woodmill apartments for a 911 disconnect. When officers arrived they observed the victim, a 33-year-old male of Dover, and Sanquist next to a vehicle in the parking lot. The victim advised police that Sanquist had assaulted him inside of an apartment with a firearm and that Sanquist had discharged a firearm in his apartment earlier in the night. The victim had injuries consistent with his statement Sanquist was taken into custody without incident and officers located a .22 caliber revolver, .22 LR Derringer, and a .22LR/.45LC Derringer that Sanquist had placed in a nearby vehicle. Officers also located damage inside of the victim’s apartment caused by Sanquist during the earlier incident. Sanquist was transported to Dover Police where he was processed and arraigned.
Sanquist was committed to SCI on $81,000 cash bail on the following charges: -Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony -Possession of a Firearm By a Person Prohibited(3x) -Assault Second Degree -Criminal Mischief Under $1000

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Nathaniel Cooper, 40, of Dover, on weapons charges, following a traffic stop early Saturday morning. The investigation began when a patrol officer observed a vehicle in the area of 295 South DuPont Highway commit a traffic violation. The officer stopped the vehicle, and observed Cooper, a passenger, who showed obvious signs of impairment by alcohol. The officer saw that Cooper was wearing a shoulder holster and was in possession of a firearm with an extended magazine. Cooper taken into custody without incident and a search revealed he was in possession of two Taurus 9mm handguns, both with extended magazines. A records check revealed Cooper is prohibited from possessing firearms. Cooper was transported to Dover Police where he was processed arraigned.
Cooper was released after posting a $21,000 secured bail on the following charges: -Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited(2x) -Possession of a Firearm Under the Influence of Alcohol(2x)
