Suspect Vehicle Photos Released in Home Invasion/Arson Case 11-12-14

On Friday, November 07, 2014 at 7:08 P.M. Dover Police responded to the 400 block of E. Water Street for a reported house fire. Further investigation revealed that the resident, a 23 year old male, was in the home when the fire started . He reported to officers that 3 black male suspects ages 18-25 forced the victim inside the residence and demanded money. The victim did not produce any money and the suspects then tied the victim up and set the residence on fire. The suspects fled in a white four door SUV with a sunroof and a luggage rack. The victim, who was not injured, was then able to escape the residence. The suspects were described as (1) 6’03”, 250 lbs dressed in all black (2) 5’08”, 220-240 lbs with a gray sweatshirt and (3) 5’07”, 150 lbs wearing a green sweatshirt. The fire damage was contained to the kitchen area of the residence but the remainder of the residence sustained smoke damage. A responding officer from the Dover Police Department attempted to climb a fence to access the rear of the home to ensure all occupants were out of the residence. The officer was injured, when he slipped and his leg suffered a severe wound from the top of the fence post. The officer was treated and released for the injury at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. The below images are of the suspect vehicle (white SUV), seen fleeing the area after the incident.
