Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests for Gun and Marijuana Possession 8-17-16

Narrative:
A speeding violation led to the arrest of two subjects on a traffic stop for possession of marijuana and a handgun on Tuesday morning. Alvin Williams, 21, was stopped in the area of River Road and New Castle Avenue for speeding when officers could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. The passenger, Vincent Walls (45), also provided a false name to police. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded .40 caliber Taurus handgun and 1.3 grams of marijuana. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident.
Alvin Williams was released on $4,000 unsecured bond on for Carrying a COncealed Deadly Weapon. Vincent Walls was charged with possession of marijuana, criminal impersonation, and drug paraphernalia. Bond information is not available for Walls.
