Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has issued a Gold Alert for a missing Dover man.  Brett Myers (19), was last seen in the 100 Block of Irma Street at 1:00Pm on Friday, May 19th.
Myers who is 5’7″ and 150 pounds, was last seen operating a dark blue 2008 Dodge Caliber Delaware Registration #140336.  There is concern for Myers welfare based on pre-existing conditions.  If you have any information on Myers’ whereabouts, please contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.

Shooting on North New Street 5-18-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday night at 9:27PM.  The incident occurred in the 200 Block of North New Street when officers responded to the area for reports of shots fired.  Officers canvassed the area of a home that was struck once by  the gunfire.  As officers were on scene, a 22-year-old male victim responded to Kent General Hospital with a graze wound to his head and a gunshot wound to his hand.  The victim was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Residential Burglary on S. Governors Avenue 5-17-17

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating an overnight burglary that occurred at an apartment in the first block of S. Governors Avenue.  Sometime between 11:20PM on Monday night and 10:30AM on Tuesday morning, an unknown suspect entered the apartment by breaking a rear window and pushing over a large fish tank.  Once inside, the suspect took cash and electronic items before fleeing.

Five Arrested Following Drug Investigation 5-16-17

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested five people following a drug investigation on Monday afternoon. Officers stopped a vehicle that was leaving the residence that the officers were investigating.  During that vehicle stop, officers located 225 grams of marijuana (nearly half a pound).  Officers then obtained a search warrant for a home in the 1400 block of Woodmill Drive.  The search of that residence led to the discovery of 525.4 grams of marijuana, 648.9 grams of marijuana “hash”, two handguns, and $1,506.000 in cash drug proceeds.

As a result of the investigation, the following five persons were arrested and charged.

Shooting on S. New Street 5-15-2017

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is investigating a Monday morning shooting that occurred in the first block of S. New Street.  At approximately 2:14AM, officers responded to the area for a report of several shots being fired.  As officers were checking the scene, a 22-year-old man arrived at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower body.  The victim was treated for his non-life threatening injury.

Five Arrested in Two Incidents at Dover Downs Casino 5-8-2017

Five men were arrested following two incident at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino on Sunday morning.  At approximately 1:58AM, officers working inside the casino as an off-duty assignment, were called to a casino entrance to address three men refusing to leave the property after casino employees denied them entry.  The three men became disorderly with Dover Downs employees and the Dover Police Officers working at the casino.  When Dover officers attempted to take the men into custody, they all resisted.  Rashawn Harris (24), shoved a Dover officer and then attempted to strike a Dover Downs Casino security officer.  A Dover officer attempted to deploy a taser to subdue Harris, but it was ineffective.  When the officer attempted to take Harris into custody, Elijah Scarboro (22), approached the officer from behind and placed him into a “choke hold”, interfering with his ability to breathe.  This officer suffered a significant injury to his hand as a result. Other Dover officers were able to remove Scarboro and take him into custody after a struggle.  Ronnell Harris (24) was also arrested in the incident.

Following this incident, two additional men were arrested by the Dover Police Department Street Crimes Unit in the parking lot of Dover Downs Casino.  Darnell Fullman (24) and De’Ron Williams (21) were contacted by officers in the parking lot at 2:20AM after learning the driver (Fullman) had a capias for his arrest.  During the traffic stop, officers discovered that Fullman was in possession of a .380 handgun and a digital scale.  Williams was in possession of 1.9 grams of marijuana.

Fullman was committed to JTVCC in default of $7,500 bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Drug Paraphernalia

Williams was released after being charged with Possession of Marijuana.
