Service Details for Corporal Thomas Hannon Released by Dover Police Department 9-5-2017
The Dover Police Department will host public services for Corporal Thomas Hannon on Friday, September 8th at University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center. The Pass and Review will take place from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and will be open to the public.

In accordance with the requests of Corporal Thomas Hannon’s family, only the following persons will be permitted to speak at Friday’s services:

Chaplain Jake McCready, Dover Police Department Chaplain
Family and Close Friends as permitted
On Saturday, September 9th, a private memorial service will be held at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Middletown, DE. This service is for family only. Public and Media should not attend this service. Officers will be at the entrance to maintain security of the property.
MEMORIAL FUND
In lieu of flowers, the family of Corporal Thomas Hannon requests that donations be made to the Corporal Thomas Hannon Memorial College Fund.

HONOR GUARD INSTRUCTIONS
Honor Guard units from outside agencies should line up on Marvin Drive (see area highlighted in blue) by 1900 hours for the departure of Corporal Thomas Hannon and the procession. If additional space is needed, honor guard units should line S. College Avenue. Contact Corporal Justin Richey via email at: justin.richey@cj.state.de.us with any questions and to obtain further details. A Dover Police officer will be gathering the honor guard and escorting them to their proper locations upon arrival.
PIPES AND DRUMS INSTRUCTIONS
Pipes and Drums units should arrive by 1700 hours and park in the highlighted area (see below map) where Ryan Knowles (Dover Police) will provide further instructions. Any questions should be directed to Ryan Knowles at: ryan.knowles@cj.state.de.us or by phone at 302-242-4341.
MEDIA INSTRUCTIONS
Media must arrive at the University of Delaware between 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8th. No media members will be permitted to enter the property before or after that time. Media parking will be available in a gated area between Delaware Stadium and the Special Olympics complex (see area marked in yellow) and will be limited to a space near that parking area. In accordance with the wishes of Corporal Thomas Hannon’s family, media will not be permitted to enter The Bob Carpenter Center during Friday’s services or interview any family members. Public Information Officer’s will be available to escort media members closer to the Bob Carpenter center upon request and media members can relocate (with escort) to cover the procession as it departs the University of Delaware. Media will be permitted to leave between 6:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. if necessary and may not depart before or after that time. There will be indoor restroom facilities available to the media, under the scoreboard of Delaware Stadium.
