Burglary at Good News Natural Foods Store 2-26-2019

Narrative: 

At approximately 4:59AM on February 26th, officers responded to the Good News Natural Foods store for an alarm activation.  Upon arrival, officers observed two broken windows to the business.  After checking surveillance footage, a black male was observed breaking a window with a rock and making entry into the business.  Once inside, the suspect went through cash registers before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Suspect Sought in Burglary of US Gas 2-25-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is seeking a suspect wanted for a burglary that occurred at US Gas.  The incident occurred between 11:00PM on February 20th and 7:30AM on February 21st.  Based on surveillance footage, detectives determined Kerry Pinkard (56), broke a window to the business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash prior to fleeing.  Pinkard is currently wanted for Burglary 3rd Degree and related charges.

Burglaries at Mod Pizza/Kirkland’s 2-25-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a pair of burglaries that occurred in the same shopping center.  Between 9:50PM on February 21st, 2019 and 8:04AM on February 22nd, 2019, an unknown suspect used a rock to break a window next to the front door of Mod Pizza.  Once inside, the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers before fleeing.

At approximately 3:05AM, an unknown black male suspect used a rock to break a lower glass window next to the front door of Kirkland’s.  Once inside the business, the suspect rummaged through the registers and through back offices before fleeing.  It does not appear the suspect stole anything from Kirkland’s.

Two Men Arrested on Several Drug Charges After Receiving Drug Shipment by Mail 2-25-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations Department arrested two men on Friday on numerous drug charges after receiving MDMA (ecstasy) through the mail at the Dover Post Office.  Assisting in the investigation were Customs and Border Patrol and United States Postal Inspections.

Both Michael Palmer, Jr. (31) and Sheldon Claud (38) were arrested without incident in the parking lot of the Dover Post Office after receiving the package containing MDMA.  In addition to the 201.2 grams of MDMA, the men were found in possession of the following items:
-45.2 grams of powder cocaine
-27.6 grams of crack cocaine
-532.6 grams of marijuana 
-196 doses of LSD
-Approximately 1,239 bags of heroin (8.673 grams)
-52 vials of THC oil (approx. 38.084 grams)
-Loaded 9mm handgun
-$6,904 in drug proceeds   

As a result of the incident  Michael Palmer, Jr. was charged with the following offenses and committed to SCI in default of $702,200 cash bond:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony  
-Possession of Heroin
-Possession of MDMA
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of LSD (2x)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Marijuana
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Drug Paraphernalia

Sheldon Claud was committed to SCI in default of $691,200 cash bond on the following charges:

Burglary at Georgia Boys Bagels 2-20-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at Georgia Boys Bagels at 136 Green Tree Drive.  The incident occurred sometime between Tuesday, February 19th at 6:00PM and 3:338AM on Wednesday, February 20th.  An unknown suspect used a large rock to beak a window to the business.  Once inside, the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and beverages from the store before fleeing.

Armed Robbery at 7-11 2-20-2019

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is investigating an early morning robbery that occurred at a 7-11 store, located at 449 S. New Street.  The incident occurred when a male suspect entered the store and displayed a firearm.  The suspect demanded the clerk to place money in a black book-bag.  Prior to the suspect fleeing, he struck the clerk in the head with the cash drawer and threatened the clerk.  The clerk did not suffer any injuries.  

The suspect was described as being a male, with a black coat, blue jeans, and a light-colored face mask to conceal his identity

Dover Man Arrested for Possession of AR-15 Outfitted with Bump Stock 2-19-2019

 Location:  400 Block of New Castle Avenue, Dover, DE

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested Joseph Carter (45) on weapons offenses on Monday afternoon.  Detectives from the Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit obtained information that Carter was in possession of a rifle with a bump stock at a residence in the 400 Block of New Castle Avenue.  a records check showed that Carter was wanted on several court capias’ as well as by the Dover Police Department and Office of Animal Welfare.  Carter was taken into custody as he left his residence on Monday afternoon.  A subsequent search of the home led to the discovery of an AR 15 with a bump stock attachment.

As a result, Carter was committed to SCI in default of $20,500 bond on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of a Destructive Weapon (Bump Stock)
-Local Fugitive

Carter was also wanted by the Dover Police Department on an unrelated Offensive Touching charge and by the Office of Animal Welfare on several offenses.  Carter was not issued a bond on any of those charges.
