Vehicle Stop on River Road Leads to Drug and Firearms Charges for Milford Man 12-9-2019

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department arrested 21-year-old Drekwon Scott of Milford, DE, on drug and firearms charges during a traffic stop on Sunday evening. At approximately 7:38PM, Scott was stopped in the area of River Road and East Water Street for an equipment violation. During the stop, officers detected a strong odor or marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 3 grams of marijuana, a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine under the driver’s seat, an additional magazine in the glove compartment of the car, and an additional 35 rounds of 9mm ammunition on the floor behind the driver’s seat.
Drekwon Scott was committed to SCI on a $3,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
