UPDATE:  
Eric Sartin was arrested on August 30th, 2020 when the Delaware State Police transported him to the Dover Police Department.  Sartin was charged with a single count of criminal mischief and released on an O.R. Bond by Justice of the Peace Court 7.

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department is seeking a suspect that fire multiple gunshots in a parking lot on Wednesday afternoon following a domestic related argument.  Eric Sartin (29) of Smyrna fired two gunshots in the air and two shots at an unoccupied vehicle belonging to the victim of the domestic altercation in the parking lot of 642 S. Queen Street.  Sartin then fled in a gray 2009 Honda Accord with Delaware Registration: 11164.  No injuries occurred as a result of this incident.

Traffic Stop for No Headlights Leads to Gun and Drug Charges for Dover Woman 8-31-2020

Summary:
The Dover Police Department arrested a 27-year-old female on weapons and drug offenses during a traffic stop on Sunday evening. At approximately 9:59 p.m., oficers stopped Jennifer Weathersby (27) for driving without headlights in he area of South State Street and East Reed Street.  During the stop, Weathersby opened the glove compartment and a loaded 9mm handgun was inside of it.  Both Weathersby and a passenger were detained without incident.  A further search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 75 Oxycodone pills inside the center console.

Weathersby was released on an O.R. Bond on the following charges:
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (Drugs)
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony

Officers Dragged by Fleeing Theft Suspect 8-31-2020

Summary:

Two Dover Police officers escaped injury after being dragged short distance by a fleeing suspect on Sunday afternoon.  The incident began at approximately 2:51 p.m. on August 30th when the officers responded to the West Side Car Wash on Route 8 when Darren Lewis (21) failed to pay for his services.  A short time later, officers located Lewis driving his vehicle in the area of North DuPont Highway and White Oak Road an conducted a vehicle stop.  When the officers contacted Lewis, he fled, dragging the officers for approximately 10 feet.  Lewis abandoned the vehicle in the 100 Block of Willis Road.  Officers located a 4.5″ knife in the pocket of a seat inside the vehicle and 1.5 grams of marijuana.

Lewis later returned to West Side Car Wash to pay for his services and was taken into custody without further incident by Dover Police.

Lewis was committed to SCI on a$33,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Reckless Endangering (2x)

Traffic Stop Leads to Firearms and Drug Arrest 8-31-2020

Summary:
The Dover Police Department arrested two subjects for weapons and drug offenses during a traffic stop on Saturday, August 29th.  At approximately 7:09 p.m., officers on patrol stopped a Ford Explorer for a seat-belt violation.  When officers made contact with the driver (Daquan Watson, 20), they detected a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle.  Also inside the vehicle was Watson’s one-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old male suspect.  

During the traffic stop, Watson reached into a crevice between the center console and driver seat multiple times, despite officers instructing him to stop.  Watson was safely removed from the vehicle and a search led to the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun in between the driver seat and center console that was later to determined to be reported stolen.  In addition to the weapon, officers located a combined 46 grams of marijuana in the vehicle and on the 13-year-old male suspect, several ski masks, and $127 in suspected drug proceeds. 

Watson was released after posting a $16,103 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Receiving Stolen Firearm 
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Traffic Offenses

The 13-year-old suspect was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was released to a family member after being charged.

Dover Man Arrested for 7th Offense DUI 8-28-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested Darrell Williams (58) for a 7th offense DUI on Friday morning.  At approximately 12:02 a.m., an officer stopped Williams in the area of Queen Street and Division Street after he committed a traffic violation in the area of Saulsbury Road and Forrest Avenue.  During the traffic stop, the officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol and observed visible signs of intoxication.  After failing Field Sobriety Tests (FST), Williams was taken into custody and charged with a 7th offense DUI based on six previous alcohol related convictions.

Williams was committed to SCI on a $10,002 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Failure to Signal
-Driving Without a Valid License
-DUI (7th Offense)

Two Multiple Offense DUI Arrests Made by Dover PD 8-24-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested Jason Reynolds (35, Dover) for a 3rd offense DUI and related charges stemming from an incident on Friday night.  Officers responded to WAWA for a report of a man passed out in the store at approximately 8:57 p.m.  Responding officers located Reynolds sleeping on the floor between two shelves.  Reynolds was transported to Kent General Hospital by medical personnel at the time.  

As officers continued to investigate, they discovered that Reynolds had driven to the store with his 1-year-old son in a black Jeep SUV.  The vehicle was parked at a gas pump with damage to the right side tires and Reynolds’ son asleep in the back seat.  The child was turned over to another family member.  Officers also located prescription drugs inside of the vehicle.

Based on evidence obtained during the investigation, including surveillance video, Reynolds was charged with a 3rd Offense DUI.  Reynolds was committed to SCI on a $5,500 secured bond on the following charges:
-3rd Offense DUI
-Possession of a Controlled Substance
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Endangering the Welfare of a Child
-Breach of Release (3x) (Related to a prior domestic related charge)

Date/Time:  Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 at 5:10 p.m.

Narrative: 

An accident investigation led to a fifth offense DUI charge for a 37-year-old Dover man on Saturday afternoon.  At approximately 5:10 p.m., officers responded to the area of Scarborough Road and North DuPont Highway after a vehicle crashed into a “Welcome to Dover” sign off the roadway.  James Munson was identified as the driver of the vehicle and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.  Officers took Munson into custody and had him transported to Kent General Hospital by medical personnel due to his level of intoxication.  Officers located a cigarette dipped in PCP and 3.6 grams of marijuana inside of the vehicle.

Munson was later released from Kent General Hospital and released after posting a $5,302 secured bond on the following charges:
-5th offense DUI
-Possession of Controlled Substance
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Possession of Marijuana
