Summary:
The Dover Police Department arrested two subjects for weapons and drug offenses during a traffic stop on Saturday, August 29th.  At approximately 7:09 p.m., officers on patrol stopped a Ford Explorer for a seat-belt violation.  When officers made contact with the driver (Daquan Watson, 20), they detected a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle.  Also inside the vehicle was Watson’s one-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old male suspect.

During the traffic stop, Watson reached into a crevice between the center console and driver seat multiple times, despite officers instructing him to stop.  Watson was safely removed from the vehicle and a search led to the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun in between the driver seat and center console that was later to determined to be reported stolen.  In addition to the weapon, officers located a combined 46 grams of marijuana in the vehicle and on the 13-year-old male suspect, several ski masks, and $127 in suspected drug proceeds.

Watson was released after posting a $16,103 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Receiving Stolen Firearm
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Traffic Offenses

The 13-year-old suspect was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was released to a family member after being charged.
