The Dover Police Department continues to investigate the homicide that occurred on the morning of December 25th in the area of Town Pointe Apartments.  The victim in the case has been identified as Jermaine Scott (29) of Dover, Delaware.  Further details of the case are being withheld for investigative purposes.

Narrative: 
The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a male in his late twenties from Dover that occurred on Friday morning.  At approximately 2:13 a.m., officers responded to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for a report of a gunshot victim arriving by private vehicle.  The victim succumbed to his injuries after arriving at the hospital.  Further details are not being released at this time for investigative purposes.

The Dover Police Department is withholding the name and age of the victim until the next of kin has been notified.

Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested with Firearm and Heroin After Fleeing from Police 12-30-2020

Narrative: 

The Dover Police Department arrested Devon Young (20) on firearms and drug charges following a domestic related incident on Monday afternoon.  At approximately 12:01 p.m. officers were called to the Red Roof Inn at 652 North DuPont Highway for a domestic incident.  When officers arrived, a female victim told them that Young had struck her in the head several times during an altercation.

Officers in the area then observed Young waling in the area of North State Street, south of Lepore Drive.  When the officers attempted to contact Young, he fled east on foot towards Overlook Place.  As officers chased Young, they were yelling for residents to go inside their homes.  While running, Young reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a handgun.  As Young did this, a resident in Overlook Place tackled Young, causing the gun to fall from his hands.  Officers then took Young into custody without further incident and recovered the firearm.  Young was also found to be in possession of 70 bags of heroin.  The firearm Young was carrying had an obliterated serial number.

Young was committed to SCI on a $34,000 secured bond on the following charges:
-Offensive Touching (Domestic Incident)
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon

Madison Court Residential Burglary 12-29-2020

Narrative: 
The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred on December 26th.  Sometime between 12:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., an unknown suspect made entry into the residence by breaking the rear glass door.  Once inside, the suspect stole several jewelry items before fleeing.  No further information is available at this time.

Narrative: 
The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that damaged three vehicle and an occupied residence in the Capital Green community on Monday evening.  At approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to the area for several reports of shots fired.  Upon arrival the officers located three damaged vehicles and were informed of a residence that was also struck.  The residence was occupied by five people at the time of the shooting.  No injuries occurred as a result of the incident.

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that damaged two occupied homes in the Unit Block of South New Street.  At approximately 10:20 a.m., officers were called to the area for a report of shots fired.  One home was occupied by three people and was struck at least one time.  The second home was occupied by six people and was struck three times.  No persons were injured during the incident.

The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 21-year-old male that occurred early Sunday morning.  At approximately 5:39 a.m. officers were notified that a shooting victim had arrived to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital by private vehicle.  The victim was struck twice in the upper leg and his injuries are not life threatening.  It is believed the shooting occurred at approximately 4:47 a.m. in the 100 Block of S. New Street.  However, the victim has been extremely uncooperative with investigators.
