Narrative:

The Dover Police Department has arrested Riley Braswell (22) for the April 12th Shooting Death of Dazhmier Brooks.  Braswell was apprehended in Brooklyn, New York on May 3rd, 2021 by the United States Marshals Service 1st State Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the United States Marshals Service Eastern District.  Braswell was arrested without incident and was in possession of a 9mm handgun.  Braswell is currently being held in New York, pending extradition to Delaware on the following charges:
-Murder 1st Degree

-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Tampering with Evidence

Dover Police Arrest Two for Felony DUI Offenses

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested two men on felony DUI charges in separate incidents on Saturday afternoon. The first incident occurred at approximately 4:49 p.m., when officers were called to the area of S. DuPont Highway and Loockerman Street for a report of a unresponsive driver.  When officers arrived, they contacted Richard Smart (64) and observed that he was under the influence of alcohol.  Smart refused to perform sobriety tests, therefore a search warrant was obtained and a blood draw was performed at a local hospital. 

Smart was released after posting a $7,200 secured bond on the following offenses:
-DUI 6th Offense
-Non-Compliance with Release Conditions
-Driving While Suspended
-Inattentive Driving
-Miscellaneous Motor Vehicle Violations

The second incident occurred at approximately 6:28 p.m., when officers were once again dispatched to an unresponsive driver in the parking lot of the Edgehill Shopping Center at 43 S. DuPont Highway.  Officer contacted Richard McDonaugh (41) in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.  Officers observed that McDonaugh was under the influence of alcohol and he was taken into custody without incident.  McDonaugh was committed to SCI on a $5,000 secured bond after being charged with a 5th Offense DUI.

Suspect Sought Following Walgreen’s Robbery

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department is seeking a suspect in connection with a Sunday morning robbery that occurred at a Walgreen’s store.  At approximately 1:05 a.m. on May 2nd, Kyle Batson (22) entered the business and approached a cashier.  Batson demanded cigarettes and told the cashier that he had a gun.  The suspect obtained 1 packs of Newport cigarettes and fled from the business.  Batson was identified as the suspect based on surveillance footage.
