The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 25-year-old man with serious injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 10:18 p.m. when officers were called to the area of Garfield Drive and Frear Drive for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found the male victim lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid until medical personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to Kent General Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries.

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that damaged an occupied residence on Monday evening. Officers responded to the 400 Block of New Castle Avenue for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, a female occupant of the home advised that a single round had struck the front of her residence. No injuries were reported.

UPDATE (June 22, 2021): The Dover Police Department has made an arrest in the June 16th shooting of a 26-year-old man on Fairway Lakes Drive. Shakur Peck (24) was identified as the suspect during the investigation. Peck was taken into custody by the Dover Police Department while staying at the Dover Inn (428 N. DuPont Highway). Tanesha Milbourne (38) was also in the room and arrested for Tampering with Physical Evidence after a loaded handgun was found in the tank of the hotel room’s toilet.
Peck was committed to SCI on a $264,200 cash bond on the following charges stemming from the shooting and search of the hotel room: -Attempted Murder 1st Degree -Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (2x) -Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony (2x) -Tampering with Physical Evidence -Drug Paraphernalia -Conspiracy 2nd Degree
Tanesha Milbourne was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $64,200 cash bond on the following offenses: -Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony -Conspiracy 2nd Degree -Tampering with Physical Evidence -Drug Paraphernalia

The Dover Police Department is investigating a pair of shooting incidents that occurred at the same residence in the 700 Block of Simon Circle. The first occurred on June 17th at approximately 5:40 p.m. when an unoccupied vehicle was struck twice by gunfire in front of the residence. The second incident occurred on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 at 10:55 p.m. when a window to the residence was struck and entered the occupied home. No injuries resulted from this incident.

At approximately 2:38 a.m., officers were called to the Capital Inn for a report of a shooting and located a 23-year-old male victim with a single gunshot wound to the back. The victim was transported to Kent General Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Dover Police Department is issuing a Gold Alert for a 45-year-old Ocean View man. Jason Laplaca was escaped from Dover Behavorial Health after being committed for a condition that poses a threat to his safety if not monitored and treated properly. Laplaca was last seen wearing blue scrub pants and an orange shirt, but he may be wearing khaki pants and a white shirt. He is 5’9″, approximately 300 pounds, with brown eyes, bald head, and short beard.

Narrative:
The Dover Police Department arrested Leonard White (38) on drug charges on Tuesday afternoon. White was the subject of a drug investigation and was stopped in a vehicle in the 4000 Block of Forrest Avenue. Officers executed a search warrant at White’s apartment on Isabel Isle with assistance from a K-9 with the Delaware Natural Resources Police Environmental Crimes Unit. During the search, 65 packages of THC edibles were located. During a further search using the K9, a box containing 503.6 grams (approximately 1.10 pounds) of crystal meth was located. In addition to these items, $2,200 in drug proceeds were seized.
White was committed to SCI on a $55,501 secured bond on the below charges: -Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana -Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine -Drug Paraphernalia -Possession of Marijuana -Traffic Violation
