Drug Arrests on East Sheldrake Circle on

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested several suspects on drug charges on Wednesday afternoon in the 200 Block of Sheldrake Circle following an investigation into narcotics sales.  Officers checked the home after determining that Tyrese Tilghman-Benson (23) was on probation and residing at the home.  During the check, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the home.  Inside the residence, officers contacted Temple Jefferson (23), William Johnson (19), Breauna Crosby (20), and Tilghman-Benson.  Officers obtained a search warrant for the home and discovered that Johnson and Crosby were in possession of 212.2 grams of marijuana.  Jefferson was found hiding in a bathroom and was in possession of 249 doses of MDMA.

Tilghman-Benson was released on a criminal summons for marijuana possession.

Temple Jefferson was committed to SCI on a $40,000 cash bail on the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA
-Possession of MDMA
-Drug Paraphernalia

Johnson and Crosby were both released on O.R. bonds on the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

Probation Check Leads to Firearms Arrest

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested Javonte Brown on a firearms offense and Violation of Probation stemming from an October 27th, 2021 probation check.  On that day, a routine home visit was conducted on Brown’s residence in the Unit Block of S. New Street.  During the visit, officers located a shotgun inside of the home.  Officers seized the weapon and had it examined for fingerprints.  On November 3rd, 2021, the prints that were obtained were confirmed to belong to Brown and an arrest warrant was obtained.  Officers conducted surveillance and observed Brown traveling in a vehicle in Harrington, DE.  A vehicle stop was conducted and Brown was taken into custody without incident.

Brown was committed to SCI on a $10,000 cash bond on one count of Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited and issued a Violation of Probation.

Dover Man Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges on South New Street

Narrative:

The Dover Police Department arrested a 32-year-old Dover man on drug and firearm offenses on Wednesday evening.  Officers patrolling the area of S. New Street and W. Reed Street observed a black Toyota Corolla parked on the side of the road with a female in the driver’s seat and Michael Carrington standing on the passenger side.  Officers learned the vehicle was reported stolen out of Troop 7 of the Delaware State Police after running the tags.  When officer’s approached, the female and Carrington began to walk away.  As officer’s attempted to contact the pair, Carrington fled on foot.  Carrington was apprehended a short time later after an officer utilized their Taser.  During the foot pursuit, Carrington threw a bag containing 25.2 grams of marijuana and was found to be in possession of 2.7 grams of crack cocaine.  During the investigation, officers were able to determine that Carrington was operating a Honda Accord that was parked in front of the stolen vehicle, which was confirmed using video surveillance.  During a search of that vehicle, officers located a handgun in plain view, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.

Carrington was committed to SCI on a $10,500 secured bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Drug Paraphernalia
