Dover Police Investigating Robbery on S. Governors Avenue 8-28-26

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred early Friday morning in the area of S. Governors Avenue and W. Reed Street.

At approximately 12:26 a.m. on August 28, 2026, officers responded to the area for a reported robbery. The victim reported that a male suspect approached her and demanded her property while she was on a porch. The suspect struck her in the face and threatened to use a weapon, although the victim did not see one.

The suspect took the victim’s personal property and then entered her vehicle and fled the area. Officers later located the unoccupied vehicle in the area of Clara Street and N. Bradford Street. The vehicle was recovered and is being processed as part of the investigation.

The victim was not injured. Detectives are continuing to investigate and are working to identify the suspect.
