Guilty Plea in 2013 Dover Homicide Case 3-18-2014

UpdateNathan McNeill, of Dover, pled guilty to Second Degree Murder today in Kent County Superior Court.  McNeill was charged with the murder of 18-year old Imeer Waddell that occurred in the Whatcoat Apartment complex on February 1st, 2013.  Witnesses with Waddell that night stated they were sitting on the steps of the 992 building when a dark-colored vehicle drove by.  The vehicle made a U-turn in the complex, eventually stopping in front of the group in front of the 992 building, firing several shots at the group.  18-year-old Imeer Waddell of Dover was shot in the head and transported to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, where he later died as a result of his injury. A second victim, a 19-year-old male, was shot in the right arm during the incident.  An investigation by the Dover Police Criminal Investigations Unit, led to the arrest of Nathan McNeill.  The murder trial began two weeks ago in Kent County Superior Court, and a mid-trail plea was agreed upon today.  McNeill pled guilty to Second Degree Murder and  Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and will serve a minimum of 25 years.
